Graduation

Have you ever wondered where life would take you?

I have many times in this life even thou we only have one to live.

Sitting in the assembly hall we all gathered to receive our graduating certificates, 12 years of my life given to this wonderful school having our ups and downs.

I have a total of 3 friends my best friend Dominique and our others that joined Kathy and Megan

Megan's the free spirited always pushing boundaries, Kathy she just goes along for the ride she is closer to Megan thou, then we have my best friend Dominique we are always together ride to die that one, then there's me I'm to stressed and always focused on school work always planning on what to do next they have always called me workaholic not the fun one.

That is who I am thou always planning for the future, after school I want to get a job and do part time collage online to keep myself busy

As you can see, I am already just graduating and already planning on getting a job.

Paying attention again after Dom nudges me on the side the principle starts calling up names with his side remarks of learners he knows(wink)

Jason Forburn - "Finally receiving his pass with 69% pass rate well done boy after last year i thought you'd stick around another year."

Megan Steyn - "always the risk taker never serious about anything passing with 78%"

We all are shouting, "you did it well done Megs" She waves at us while taking her certificate

A few more names called out, I couldn't worry with the side remarks the principle says about each person, that's just what he thinks and doesn't actually know us as people but 'brats' as he likes to say passing through the passages going to his office.

Kathy Bloem - "passing with the 5th highest in the school 82% well deserved young lady you did well"

We start screaming her name "Kathy Kathy Kathy" and clapping while the other think we have gone nuts

"settle down settle down girls" The principle tell us we just giggle he gives us this look we know too well and that makes us pull our faces right, not a sound coming from us now.

He clears his throat in the microphone that is just so loud we all put our hands over our ears to block it. "could the following four and final students please stand, Roland, Dominique, Timothy and Tiana"

We all stand walking up to the podium we stand there waiting for the principle to proceed "I'd like to personally congratulate you four on your outstanding performance this year and you made our school a name with your marks and percentage's so in honours of you all, we would like to call our Governing body Shandy Vercill to shake your hands and give you a little something on behalf of our school to say thank you"

We see this tall lady step out holding a basket full of items walking towards us, first she steps in front of Roland hands him a package and an envelope "well done you have made us proud pass rate of 91.3%"

She walks over to Dominique does the same Dom looks at me and I wink at her with a big smile on my face "Well done you made us proud 93.4% pass rate"

She walks over to Timothy does the same "Well done you made us proud 95.4% pass rate"

She walks towards me and i start to sweat instead of saying something she turns to face the whole school "Today I'd like everyone to applaud for this young lady throughout her years here this I have to say is this is her highest percentage even from her other grades and all i can say is WOW you have put a lot of work into this and we as a school say thank you" She turns to look at me and hands me a package and two envelopes "you my girl will go far in life" Shaking my hand she turns to all of us that have graduated and looking at all the others in the hall

"To everyone well done and I hope what I say next will inspire you younger children to follow in the four receiving gifts and envelopes footsteps in the envelopes is a bursary to any collage you would like to go and with the highest pass rate of 98.6% to Tiana Fischer in the other envelope is a little something from all of us teachers and well done to everyone for passing this year"

everyone started to clap their hands and us graduates took off our hats and threw it up into the air screaming "we did it"

Walking up to the girls we all did this hug circle, and everyone said congratulations to each other.

Now to get out of this place and start our futures......
