N.o 8 The beginning of something

Sophia's P.O.V

"DADDY" giggles filled the air "do you have to go?" A sad smile fell onto the girls face as she looked at her father.

"You know I have to" he says staring at the sad girl in his arms "but I'll be back before you know it, princess" kissing her forehead he gently puts her back on her feet.

"I love you, Blair" kissing her head one last time he is escorted into a big posh car.

"I lowve you two, daddy" her voice grows quieter as he walks further away

"Come on let's get you inside" a maid says from behind her as she continues to watch her dad's car disappear.

....

"Ha, ha ha, you thought he loved you " a woman says from in front of her, her face covered leaving her face less "he left you" running the side of her finger down the face of the child in front of her

"What to do with you" the woman says walking around the chair the child was strapped to.

"Poor girl can't even defend herself" her laugh echoes around the dark room, her hand raising into the air in the direction of where the child sat

Sparks filled the darkness flashes of green followed shortly behind, heading towards her

This was her end.

"NOOOOO!" The sound of glass smashing sounded around the room, the shards falling like rain.

A gust of wind entered through the now shattered window. Her heart beating wildly against her ribcage sweat dripping off her body, the realisation of what just happened only just hitting her in the face.

"OMG WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?" Her parents rushing into the room staring directly at the window that has glass shards all around it

"Oh, hunny are you ok " her mum says slowly walking towards the her shaking body that's sat on the bed "what happened, wh-" taking in a Breath "are you ok" her eyes run over her frame checking for any injuries

"Mum I'm fine" her breathing slowly returning to normal "I just a little bit shaken that's all" placing a hand on her mum's shoulder hoping to ease her worries

"Do you know how this happened?" Her dad asks standing at the window

"No, I was having a nightmare and then I woke to the sound of the glass shattering" Sophia says a puzzled look on her face

"Ok" her mum says brushing the side of Sophia's head with the back of her hand "we will get this cleaned up and you can go back to sleep" she continues while getting up off the bed staring at the mess still in disbelief that this is real

"Mum, I'm fine" her voice bringing her mum back out of her mind.

"Ok, I love you" with that they both walk out of the room.

"OMG" a voice rang out through the school hall " are you ok. I heard what happened. Wait" taking in a breath" what did happen?" Mira appeared in front of Sophia's locker

"Hello, to you too" she says slamming the locker shut, her limbs heavy from the lack of sleep

"What happened?" Mira asked her foot tapping impatiently

"I would tell you if I knew, one minute I was having the worst dream of my life and the next the window smashing woke me up" suddenly she was cocooned by a pair of arms, squishing the air out of her lungs.

"Uhh, hi" she says, staring at the person crushing her, attempting to pry the arms off of her.

"Hey I heard what happened, are you ok?" Alex says slowly removing his arms from around her but leaving them on her arms checking her over for any injuries

" Can you guys stop! I said I'm fine, I'm fine so stop fussing over me like I'm about to shatter like my window" the crowd around her froze

" Look, I'm sorry ok, I'm fed up with it, I'm fine so stop asking me. Please" the desperation and lack of sleep slowly seeping through her words

"Ok, I'll see you at lunch" Mira turns around not waiting for a response

"She just worried about you," Alex says before walking away, also leaving me in a crowd of students.

...

"Hey, how was school?" mum asks the sound of the pan sizzling in the background

"It was fine" Sophia replies, shrugging her coat off, putting it on the coat hanger. Placing my bag into the kitchen, close by ready to do some homework

"We managed to fix the window of yours " she says her back facing mine

"Thanks" I say learning over to kiss her on her cheek "that smells amazing mum"

The food in the pan sizzled its aroma filling the air

"Sophie" she dragged my name " what did happen earlier no windows shatter randomly Hun" she asks now facing me a confused look on her face

"I don't know mum, one minute I was in a dream that I wanted to get out of and then I woke up to the window smashing "Sophia stated her eyes never leaving hers. A flash of concern and realisation flickered through her eyes but disappeared before I could ask questions

"I-I I'm going to go do my homework" grabbing her bag before another conversation could start, and making her way up the stairs. Her door slammed shut.
