Eternal youth and joy.

A hint of glint traced on his eyes when you suddenly turned your head to him as your lips twitched onto a small smile, “I used to believe that my wishes would become true if I blew all the seeds away. But now I know, all of those are bullshit.”

And that made him doubt himself if he is capable to make you happy.

Your smile faded and Jungkook forced a wider smile despite the aching pain he felt through your heart. He decided to pull you again with him and now the both of you were surrounded by the white dandelions. He lurched down on the ground and you followed suit.

“Wanna make a wish with me?” He asked and you could see your own reflection surrounded by the dandelions in his eyes.

“I don’t know what to wish anymore.” You sighed and looked away from him as you lightly touched the dandelions. You just noticed these dandelions are the only flower that haven’t withered on the field.

“There. I already have my wish.” You didn’t notice he already blew a dandelion's seeds away.

“What is it?” Your eyes followed the seeds as they danced on the air.

“You will eventually know.”

You have grown closer with him each time the both of you met. Jungkook was relieved you have started to open up with him.

Little did you know, the grass has started to become dull while the flowers started to bloom slowly.

Jungkook’s smile became a sad one as his eyes stared down the grass under his bare feet. Half of the grass are now dull and some of them died. Knowing the reason behind it, he held onto the bell on his black choker, it has been four days since it chimed last time.

He is elated of the fact, you have started to do well and fine.

If he were to be honest to himself, the fact that the both of you can only meet through sadness is totally unfair. He shouldn’t have questioned his temporary existence as he is just a spirit that is born to make someone happy.

“If you succeeded on making someone happy...” You leaned your head on your knee after you folded your legs and hugged it, pulling them to your chest.

“...What will happen?” You continued and your breath got caught in your throat when he looked away from the night sky and stared back into your eyes.

He bit onto his lower lip at your question and breathed out heavily when he felt the sudden pain in his chest, he have figured out why he was feeling and acting differently lately. Your constant visit in this dream affected him.

He knows it was totally wrong and selfish of him to wish you could be in this dream forever, it would mean that you should suffer the real life so that he could meet you.

But that’s not what he is for.

No matter on how much he wanted you to stay, he could only wish your life getting better and fine so he tried his best to get his job done.

He wished he is more than this spirit that only exists in someone’s dream, he wished he can be there for you when you were crying during the nights, to listen to you everyday, to hold you in his arms and whispered that everything will be fine before you could drift off into your sleep.

He lifted his hand up and put a strand of hair away from your eyes before putting it behind your ear,  the moonlight reflected in his eyes and gave a soft glow on his face.

A soft forced smile painted across his lips, instead of answering, he asked, “wanna know the wish that I made before blowing the dandelion away?”

You stayed silence, indicating that you would listen anyway, “for these flowers to bloom and never wither.”

You looked around, how come you didn’t notice the flowers already started to bloom healthily?

“Tell me, are you finally happy?” Those words came out from Jungkook’s mouth in hesitation.

With that question, you smiled back, totally oblivious of the pain in his eyes.

Don’t say it, Jungkook whispered to himself.

All of the flowers around the both of you started to finally bloom while the grass underneath them started to turn dull and dried.

“Yeah, thank you, because of you, I am finally healed and feel happy.”

With your words, all of the grass turned brown and went dried. The last thing you saw was his tears and smile before you woke up and found yourself on your own bed.

summary:

•these spirits here will only be born if someone experience deep sadness.

•the grass indicates jungkook’s span of life and it is affected by her happiness. thus, the more happier she is, the grass will start to get dull in color and eventually they will dry. but it can regrow and become green if she feel sad.

•the flowers indicates y/n’s feelings of sadness and happiness. withering flowers means she is sad whilst blooming means she is happy.

•these spirits will totally vanish if the one they try to cheer up finally admit they are genuinely happy.

•and no, any feelings of sadness caused by spirits can’t be the reason for them to meet the spirits. so when jungkook finally disappeared, i know ya all sad bcs of that but sorry you cant meet him
