Jaxon: How's the view?

Jacqui: No sign yet of the mystical barrier that you mentioned

Jaxon: Oh, trust me, you'll know it when it comes

Jacqui: How are you feeling?

Jaxon: For the first time in a while, in control. I got tossed into the deep end of this world of gods and monsters. But now, knowing my future, I feel like I've finally come up for air. Those bad things that happened to me?
I mean...will happen to me? Like Raiden said, it's all gonna be different. Isn't this good news?

Jacqui: The things that happened to my dad. The trauma that he suffered. It's why my parents met. They fell in love while he was in recovery. If they don't happen, you and mom might not meet. I may never be born

Jaxon: Jacqui, I can't pretend that I get all of this cosmic time stuff, but I do know that you are here for a reason. You're not just some random accident

Jacqui: I sure hope so

(Echo appears)

Echo: We're approaching the island

Jaxon: Ok, we'll be ready

Echo: Good

(Echo is sharpening and cleaning his sword)

(The battleship approaches the island)

Jacqui: Shang Tsung's island!

Jaxon: Aw shit, here we go again

(Jaxon, Jacqui, and Echo are walking around on the island)

Echo: This place feels like a lifetime ago. It's so different

(Jacqui and Jaxon see a bunch of monk bodies hanging on nooses)

Jaxon: When I was here for the tournament, there were people everywhere

Echo: Yeah

(There are dead monks sitting on the spectator bench)

Jaxon: These guys looked a lot younger. Seems like only yesterday

Jacqui: I guess after Shang Tsung died, this place did too. Nobody's home. So much for needing stealth. Should've brought the whole squad

Jaxon: I'm kinda hoping that Raiden's wrong about the well of souls. I don't wanna be here any longer than we have to-

(Jacqui's device beeps)

Jacqui: Multiple contacts!

Jaxon: How many?

Jacqui: Two! But one of em's circling us real fast!

(Echo draws his sword)

(Revenant Kabal runs up and punches Jacqui)

(Revenant Kabal continues to run circles around the group until Jaxon punches him, sending him tumbling)

(Revenant Jade comes towards the group)

R Kabal: Kronika knew that Raiden would send someone here

(A wave of undead monks run towards the group)

Echo: I've got the dead-heads

(Echo draws his sword and starts rapidly slicing through the undead monks)

Jaxon: Give me ten seconds with this guy

R Kabal: Jax Briggs. We were partners under Quan Chi's command. You'll join me again
