CHAPTER 29: Jealous?

She didn't move an inch.

THANK GOD!

I sighed. I moved away from her but she stood there like a statue.

Oh my Ev is so innocent. I smirked.

What's with this my Ev? Suddenly realization hit me I again called her that.

I cleared my throat and said "Why are you here? It's your day off right you should be enjoying somewhere with your friends."

She did not reply and kept standing in the same position. I stood in front of her and snapped my fingers. She came back to her senses.

"Huh?" she said.

"Why are you here Ev?" I asked again.

"Oh I-I- thought t-that w-we c-could have l-lunch together." Oh Ev why are you so innocent.

"Sure. I am starving right now. Lets go." I took my coat and my car keys and started walking with Ev following me.

Everyone was starring at us. Okay I know the reason I never get out of my office during the lunch time. So of course today it's weird. We got into the car and I started driving. After few minutes of awkward silence I finally decided to ask her "So where would you like to go?"

She was fidgeting with her hands looking down "Anywhere." I knew there was something on her mind but after that incident she is not able to say anything.

"Ev it's okay you can tell me."

"I-I wanted to eat Chinese."

"Fine I know a restaurant. I am sure you'll like it."

She nodded and again looked down.

When we reached the restaurant I called a waiter to take our orders. He came and greeted us. I saw him starring at Ev. I did not like the way he was looking at her with those dirty eyes. Ev was busy choosing her dish while his presence was making me really irritated.

"If you really love your job then stop looking at her or I swear this would be the last day of your job." I said clenching my jaw glaring at the guy.

Ev looked at me with confusion.

"Send someone else who is not like you."

"Sorry sir I-" the guy started but I cut him off.

"I said send someone else. Now." I said in a stern voice.

He nodded and went away. I saw Ev smiling.

"What?" I asked her still irritated. She looked at me with wide eyes and shook her head. Concentrating back on the menu card.

After sometime another guy came to take our orders. The whole time we were eating I could sense that Ev was trying to say something but she was thinking something and was again going back to eating.

Why can't she tell me what is going on in that mind of hers? It's not that I would eat her up.

Then her phone buzzed which was kept on the table. I saw the name 'Blake'. She took it and read the message. She was smiling to herself.

What is going on? Why would Blake Simon send her a message that too something sweet which is making her smile so much.

After the lunch I dropped Ev home and came back to the company. Though I was trying my best to concentrate on my work but I was unable to do that.

"Why does she have to chat with Blake?" I mumbled to myself.

"He is her boss maybe for work. Yes that can be a reason."

"But still why would she smile reading his messages."

I can't think anymore.

I have to stop thinking about her. It's not right.

EVELINE KNIGHT

Xander hasn't returned home yet it's 6 already.

Maybe it's only you who is madly in love with him. He doesn't even care.

I am not in love with him.

Okay and I believe you.

Stop with that sarcasm.

"What should I do?"

How about swimming?

Nah I am too lazy for that.

Then.... How about taking a walk on the garden?

No. I told you I am too lazy for those things.

Okay then how about we watch a movie?

That sounds like a good idea.

Which movie?

Horror?

No you'll get scared.

I won't. Trust me.

Last time you said the same thing but you ended up sleeping in your mom and dad's room that too in their middle like a baby.

That was a long time ago now I am brave.

Oh God!

What should I watch? Umm... let me think.

Ev why are you creating problems for yourself.

Yass! How about Anabelle Creations?

No Ev. How about 'Friends with Benefits.'

Nope baby we are watching Anabelle Creations.

Then I switched on the laptop and started watching the movie happily eating popcorn. After the movie was over I went down to have my dinner. I was sitting on the stool eating my dinner happily. I heard the main door open and close I knew it would be Xander so I got down from my stool and hid behind the curtains in the kitchen. I could feel that Xander was now in the kitchen. I heard his footsteps coming near I shut my mouth and closed my eyes praying that he wouldn't catch me. Then the footsteps started fading away. I sighed in relief that he was going back. Once he comes near me I would scare him. I started getting happy. I felt that he sat on the stool with his food and started eating. I was waiting impatiently.

"Ev you can come out now." I froze.

He knew. He knew I was hiding here.

I slowly went out and went back to my stool.

"Next time try to be a little quite when you plan on scaring me."

I started eating my food again.

"Why are you so late?" I asked.

"Just had a lot of work to do."

"Why don't you take Saturday off too? I mean Blake gives all his staff two days off."

After hearing Blake's name his jaw clenched.

Oh Ev why did you bring Blake in this. I bit my lips nervously.

"I am not Blake and if you like him so much then why are you living with me." with that he got up from his seat keeping his plate he went to his room.

What just happened? I just said that Blake gives his employees two days off. Was that wrong?

Not knowing what to do I just went to my room and was trying to sleep.
