Me and my moms just left the funeral . It's been a long time since I've been to one of those. Every time I saw a church it brought back memories.
Flash back 3 years ago
"Do I have to go?" I asked my mom while crying E "Yes, sweetie get dressed please" mom said
"I don't want to see me big brother in a casket, what's wrong with that?" I asked
"JAYLA GET DRESSED" she yelled at me
All I wanted to remember was his smile that lit up the room. Not him looking lifeless.
"Oh- okay" I said
I put on a little black dress and put my hair in a slick ponytail. I didn't feel like seeing my brother in that state anyways.
When we got to the church it really hit me that he was gone. Forever. My best friend, the one I could tell everything too ! I was on my own now .
"I want to thank everyone for coming to service today . We are celebrating the life of Jaden James." said the Pastor
"This young man was a great person but got caught up in the wrong crowd. It's sad to say, but many of our young black men tend to make the same mistakes . It's all up to god to change their ways." He said
"Amen." some old lady in the back ground said
After a while I tuned out everything and went in my own world.
