The next couple days past and nothing changed. Luke was silent, I didn't hear a single word from him which was odd...normally he made it his life goal to bug me every single fucking day.
Me and Grayson finished packing up our back backs just a few minutes ago. I still felt bad because my mind was buzzing with thoughts throughout this whole trip, that I barely paid attention to him.
"Ready to go?" I asked him as I walked down the stairs
"Not just yet" he said. I set down my back pack and opened my phone. Just as I looked up he took off his shirt, why was he stripping in the middle of the kitchen-
"What are you doing?" I asked
"Come on" he walked over to the back patio doors and stepped outside. I sighed and followed behind him, where was he going?
"We're going swimming" I stopped. A lump in my throat formed
"W-What?" My heart raced as my palms became sweaty
"You'll be okay, I promise" he said as he gripped onto my hand
"G-Grayson I don't know, I don't think I'm ready" my voice was shaky
"I won't let go of you" I knew I needed to get over this fear of mine and trust him. So I nodded and slowly walked forwards, hand in hand with him. Our feet met the water but he never stopped walking. I wanted to pull back so fucking bad, but I never did. I was over reacting but at the same time I was terrified I'd have another vision of mom drowning.
"You okay?" He asked as the water was up to our hips.
I nodded and closed my eyes, trying to think of positive thoughts
"Hey, I'm right here" Grayson squeezed my hand
Now the water was getting up to my shoulders, my breathing hitched and I felt like I was going to pass out.
Suddenly Graysons arms wrapped around my waist, pulling my close to his body
"You're okay Loni, I got you" I opened my eyes, I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked around. We were further out then I expected
The lake experience didn't go nearly as bad as I thought it would
But now we were headed back into town and the clock read 6:45 am. School started at 7:15, meaning we were would have to go back to that dreadful hell.
It was nice being away from everyone for a few days, even from my family.
As soon as we pulled into the school parking lot everyone looked over. It was kinda odd but I shrugged it off as we both walked up and into the school, still everyone was whispering and eyeing me down as if I did something horrible.
"What is up with everyone today?" I asked melody from behind. She quickly turned around and pulled me into a hug
"Where the hell have you been?! Are you okay?" I could hear the panic in her voice
"Yeah I um...just needed to get away for a bit" I didn't know how to respond. How could I tell her that I just spent the last few days with her crush
"Did you do it?!" Some random girl came up to me, she was in tears and practically shaking
"Did I do what...?" I asked back. Someone came over and pulled her away from me, looking me up and down in complete disgust
"What the fuck was that?" I crossed my arms and leaned against the lockers
"Loni..." melody spoke
"Was it you?!" Roman slammed my body against the lockers as tears streamed down his face. This was more then unusual- Roman was never aggressive, just annoying. Plus, he's not the type to cry in front of everyone
"ANSWER ME" he shouted In my face. Grayson tried pushing him away but he didn't budge
"W-What are you talking about Roman?" I furrowed my eye brows together, only to be pushed further into the lockers
"You were the last fucking person with him Loni. I swear to fucking god I will beat the shit out of you if you don't tell me what happened" Another tear rolled down his cheek. He wasn't just mad, he was broken.
Everyone was staring at me, I didn't know what to say. I was CLUELESS as to what everyone was so worked up about.
So I shook my head and kept my lips shut, only for his grip on both of my arms to tighten. It hurt, Roman never physically hurt me
"Get the fuck off of her" Grayson shoved him as hard as he could. Luckily, he succeeded and got him to move
"What the FUCK is your problem? do you have any idea of what she has done?!" Roman shoved Grayson back.
"She didn't do anything, I don't know where or why you're blaming her for your shit" Grayson said
"My SHIT?" Roman slammed Graysons body to the ground. Gasps filled the air as I watched them both hit each other and stand back up
"I have no clue what is going on but I can guaranteed it has nothing to do with Loni" Grayson fired back.
Roman shook his head and stared at me, more tears falling from his face
"Luke's dead".
