with our minds open and
our hearts closed,
young and timid but
united and mighty.
our brains spiral and create
a storm of turmoil and pain and
we are shy and chipped,
afraid to order a box of chinese food
if it means talking to a stranger
on the telephone.
we sit, in front of a black mirror
and absorb
information, terror, the happenings of
the world.
we take it in- and instead of those previous,
we don't sweep it away or
brush it off.
we are the generation that is scared
to order a coffee but
courageous enough to topple a broken
system.
we are the generation that is young and dumb and reckless but racing to make a change, one tweet
or tik-tok at a time.
we are gen z.
and we will change the world.
