memories...

.

.

it stuck to her head.

she kept on replaying that night over and over again in her head.

how she begged her mum to take a day off.

how she declined .

how he came home drunk,

the heavy footsteps he made as he walked to her room.

the shock, fear, pain and hatred...

the look in his eyes when he finally took what wasn't his to take....

her virginity .

.

.

.

.

what if she had try harder to beg her mum to stay ?

what if she locked her room that one time ?

what if she tried harder to fight him off ?

what if she didn't exist?

Mona kept asking herself these questions.

she knew what was left of her as she drew.....

she drew the pale flower crushed by the florist in her sketchbook.

she knew she was no different from the flower she drew,

they were both pale, helpless and lifeless.

they were both crushed by the ones they loved....

.

.

.

.

she wondered,

she wondered why there was a heavy storm when she was born.

her father told her it was nature welcoming her into the world,

he also said it was because she was bright and beautiful.

he also mentioned how the trees danced due to the heavy wind as a greeting knowing she is going to be great.

.

.

she laughed at herself,

she believed him.

she once did .

now she wished she hadn't...

it hit her in realization.

he lied.....

nature never welcomed her because she was beautiful and bright

the world was crying because they knew her fate and felt for her

the trees only danced to the drums of death

she didn't need their pity.

but they pitied her anyway.

they knew she would disappear from the surface of the earth....

they knew there was nobody that could stop it...

it had to be done...
