Epilogue

'God will this meeting ever end?'

Looking around the meeting room, America spotted a few countries just as eager to leave as he was . Some clicking pens or tapping them on the table as the UN continues to ramble about the subjects of the meeting.

Most of the time America would have been out of the meeting hours ago. Not because he just got up and left but because of his 50 United States. But lucky or unlucky depending on the way he looked at it, only 11 of his states and his capital were home right now. Usually he would have gotten a call by now of California and Arizona being on fire. Or Texas almost shooting some states, Alaska being drunk, and even Florida's crocodile chasing states.

But so far not one call, he was having trouble deciding if that was a good or bad thing. Either they haven't called because nothing has happened, something has and they figured it out on their own, or the worst option it's something so bad that they just haven called yet. But knowing them it is probably the worst option.

'But there is only an hour left.....I think I'll actually make it to the end this time...'

And as if almost on cue, Bring Bring , America's phone was ringing. The whole room turned to look at him. Not that he wasn't used to it. Somehow America always became the center of attention, it was one of his many curses, because contrary to popular belief America always hated the spotlight. But to not look weak in front of his enemies he had to take the stares.

America went to see who was calling him this time. To his surprise it was his youngest Hawaii. He looked at it and wondered what it could this time. Un turned around looking away from the presentation board, "Who's phone is ringing in the middle of a meeting?" Of course America raised his hand, refraining from speaking to not bring more attention to himself. But of course his attempt to do so failed. As soon as UN as it was America, he let out a groan of disapproval.

UN pieced the bridge of his nose, "Well who is it this time America? Another one of those dumb politicians? Or just another of your lame excuses to leave early?" The whole room turned to look at America. As America looked at the faces staring at him waiting for his response he saw a range of shocked to sympathy to even snarky ones.

"A politician sir." He answered with a monotone voice. He couldn't let them know about his children. They would claim they were unidentified Countryhumans and take them away from him. But also probably dishpan his country for crimes of injustice and obstructing one's freedom. Breaking the family apart.

America had to keep his cool. At times it was hard but he had to. He has come way too far to stop now. But especially for his children's sake. He would not allow them to grow up without their father like he had to.

The UN looked at him with a questionable glare but told him to take the call outside.

America got up from his seat nodding. Everyone watched as he exited the room. As the door closed he finally picked up the phone.

There will be toxic relationships all over this book. Might be some mention of rape depending on how the book goes. Definitely neglect. But I will put warnings and if I forget to please remind or call it out in the comments. There will of course be mentions of incest. And religion and politics. I  will try and keep it as readable as possible.
