The bull was as white as a white lotus flower. He was terrified of the demon-like person who was beating him so harshly. The bull trembled and urinated in fear. The cow near the bull was crying piteously.

Parikshit, the merciful one, a true devotee of Sri Krishna, became furious at the unjust act

Parikshit, the merciful one, a true devotee of Sri Krishna, became furious at the unjust act. The cow seeing the King came to him and said piteously, "O the great Pandava descendant, protect us from this evil person. I have become childless due to this cruel Kali. Now he is mercilessly beating the bull."

Parikshit asked the cow, "O Mother Cow, How could you both speak despite being an animal?" The cow replied, "O Vishnukarta, I am Goddess Earth who has taken the form of a cow. This bull is none other the Dharma himself. In the absence of Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of the Godhead, the evil Kali Purusha started to expand on me. He started releasing his arrows on the people which caused greediness, jealousy, lust, anger, and attachment in them. Since the Lord has stopped his divine pastimes and left me, Kali gained more powers. Due to this, the important pillars of Dharma started disappearing."

"O Maharaja, Look at the bull. It has lost 3 legs! The 4 legs of the bull represent austerity, cleanliness, kindness, and truthfulness. Austerity, Cleanliness, and Kindness disappeared from the world due to the effects of Kali due to rampant irreligion in the form of pride, lust for women, and intoxication. It is standing with the leg of truth. O King, Protect its last leg!"

King Parikshit immediately lifted his golden bow and the quivers filled with shining arrows of righteousness. He said, "O Evil Kali, though you look like a King, your acts don't say so. How dare you attack helpless creatures and torment them? You have lost your fear because of the absence of Supreme Lord Sri Krishna and the greatest bowman Arjuna. I warn you. I am the descendant of the Great Dhananjay. You deserved to be killed."

As the King took a sharp arrow, Kali became terrified

As the King took a sharp arrow, Kali became terrified. He immediately gave up his weapon and fell at the feet of Parikshit.

He begged, "O King, I surrender to you. Mercy on me."

Parikshit said, "I am the descendant of Mighty Arjuna who fought for righteousness

Parikshit said, "I am the descendant of Mighty Arjuna who fought for righteousness. It is Dharma to help the surrendered ones. Kali, you do not deserve to be in the places where experts perform sacrifices according to truth and religious principles for the satisfaction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. You must live in the places I order you.

You can reside only at those places where gambling, drinking, prostitution, and animal slaughter were performed."

Kali looked unsatisfied and he begged for more places. Parikshit thought for a while and said, "Yes, you can remain where there is gold because wherever there is gold there is also falsity, intoxication, lust, envy, and enmity. So now you can stay at 5 places."

The King restored the 4 legs of the Bull (Dharma) and pious activities where encouraged in his kingdom. Dharma remained happy under his rule.

Unfortunately, that was not the end. The King himself fell in the trap of Kali.
