~Pitch in Poetry~

Hey Wattpaders,

This is the poem I wrote for Contest named "Pitch in Poetry".

This poem has won SECOND place and TBH I am really very surprised.

TITLE: RELIVING OLD DAYS IN LOCKDOWN

Bored Bored Bored

In this lockdown, we are all getting bored.

What to do all day, no one can say.

Mom asked a simple question and my patience got tested,

Aren't you getting bored, aren't you already well rested?

By scolding me enough and getting satisfied herself,

Ordered to get up immediately, I comforted myself.

As I stood, I was ordered to clean the room,

Bracing myself, I picked a rusty old broom.

I didn't know where to start but I took on the work,

Taking weapons in my hand, I was ready to lurk.

First thing I saw was an old wooden rack,

When opened, I found old colours lying about in a sack.

Seeing those old colours my heart skipped a beat,

Recalling good times when we weren't bothered by the heat.

Held them in my hand, I wanted to fulfill an old wish,

Overcome with happiness, I started to draw a fish.

As I started to draw lines, I felt a different emotion,

One by one, lines connected and intertwined, as my hand went in motion.

That combination of colours, made my heart happy,

I was getting hesitant, hoping that it was not looking creepy.

When I was done, I showed that to Mommy,

She was happy to see the drawing, done by her little Bunny,

I know we all get bored in this lockdown,

But somehow it came out to be good.

Spending time with family is one good point,

Finding time to relive old days is bonus point.

Let's hope that normal days come back soon,

But till then, enjoy this lockdown as a boon.
