~Calvin's POV~:

Unlike Faith, I didn't have class on Wednesday but I did have work. I drove her to school before heading to my job. I turned up the radio, blasting Hookah throughout my car.

It wasn't long before I arrived at my dreaded workplace.

Just another day..

~Faith's POV~:

"Come on, Rayquan. Stop playing." He laughed as he poured the rest of the acid on my gloved hands.

"You're hands are gonna have a blue residue for awhile. "

"Yeah, I know. Thanks for that." The bell rang and we rushed to clean up our station and gather our things together. I walked out of class, not bothering to wait for him. Of course, he caught up.

"Faith! Wait! What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Nothing. It's the time of the month."

"Damn, seriously? TMI." I rolled my eyes and reached for my phone that was buzzing. My jaw dropped at the caller I.D. No, no, no..

"H-hello?" There was a low chuckle on the other line.

"Hey baby. Miss me?"

"Fuck off," I said in a shaky voice.

"Why? I missed you." Rayquan put a hand on my shoulder but I shook him off.

"I'm in a really good place right now and I don't want you to ruin this for me." Langston chuckled once again and it sent shivers up my spine.

"In a good place with who? That asshat, Calvin? You know I can take care of you better." My hands shook with fear and anticipation. Can I trust him?

"I haven't heard from you for like a year now. Why in the blue fuck did you choose to pop up now?" He sighed, his voice becoming sincere.

"I've grown, baby. I wouldn't hurt you again. I love you a lot and I know you still love me. If you didn't, you would've hung up the phone by now." Don't give in.. don't do it.

"So what if I still love you? I'm not giving your sorry ass a chance. I gave you dozens of chances and you blew them all. I've moved on."

"Have you?" I took a deep breath.

"Fuck off."

After the phone call, I just couldn't go to class. My blood had ran cold and I couldn't focus on anything except our conversation.

Skipping class, I had found a rather secluded spot on the campus beneath a tree. I sighed and let my head fall into my hands. What if he was right?

After all those years, I've pushed him to the back of my mind to focus on Calvin. I've always hated to admit it but Langston has a special place in my heart. I hated that but there was absolutely nothing I could do.

I dug through my bag and rubbed the pack of Marlboro in my hands. I had to..

~Calvin's POV~:

"Hey Faith. How was school?" She shrugged and I recognized that smile on her face. It was tight and forced. "You okay? Did someone fuck with you?"

"No, no. I'm fine." The rest of the car ride was painfully silent. She didn't ask any questions about my day and crack any jokes like she usually does. I know my girlfriend like the back of my hand; something was wrong with her.

Dinner time rolled around and she still hasn't spoken. I stabbed the lasagna on my plate, my appetite dispersing. She looked up at me with an unreadable look but continued to eat. I sighed and sat back in the chair, putting my hands in my pockets. "Did I do something?"

She shook her head. "No."

"Why are you acting so cold? I know you're on your period but you usually get moody not quiet. Is something else going on?" She smacked her forehead and exhaled loudly.

"I didn't realize I was getting interrogated by a fucking cop. Can you back the fuck off?"

"Faith, I'm worried about you. This aint you." She stood up, glaring at me.

"Maybe you don't fucking know me then." I didn't bother to chase after her as she got up and stormed through the front door.

Not only did I know better, but I was stumped.
