Myles POV:
I felt awful for the way things ended between, Briar & I. She didn't deserve to see that, or feel that way.
I had been deep in conversation with Dylan about my music, while sitting in the living room. Briar had gone to hangout with a friend, & was gone for hours. I assumed she'd be back for dinner, & honestly, I didn't mind.
I was glad she was finally going out to socialise, & catch up with friends. She had been really upset, & closed off, since she lost her mum; but now she was hanging out with friends, & enjoying the day, which I was glad about.
I was so deep in conversation with Dylan that day, that it took my brain a good five seconds to even process that she had forced herself on me, & was kissing me.
I sat there, not moving, with my eyes open wide, out of shock. Suddenly, Dylan moved closer, practically sitting on my lap, as she deepened the kiss.
For a split second, I enjoyed the kiss. I enjoyed having her that close to me again. It felt like it did back when we were dating, & I liked it. But then I realised what I was doing, & I felt absolutely disgusted with myself. I WAS WITH BRIAR!!!
I was just about to push Dylan away, when I heard Briar's voice. Her utterly heartbroken voice...
"Myles?"
I pulled away as soon as I heard her voice, & turned to face her. She looked & sounded betrayed, & for very good reason.
"B, I can explain!" I said, trying to clear things up. I could see the tears threatening to spill from her eyes.
"Save it, Myles! We're over! I'll be moving back into my house tonight." she said, turning on her heel, as she quickly ran from the room.
I felt horrible. Why had Dylan done that? Why didn't I pull away sooner?! What did Briar think of me? Would she ever talk to me again?!
"Don't worry about her. It was just a kiss. She's overreacting!" Dylan explained, which only made me feel ten times worse. I was her boyfriend, & she caught me kissing my ex-girlfriend, even if I wasn't the one who started it. She trusted me, & I broke that trust.
"You should leave. I'm not in the mood to hangout tonight." I told Dylan, which she wasn't the happiest about, but she obeyed.
I thought about going upstairs to check on Briar, & to try & clear things up, but I didn't think she'd want to talk. I was probably the last person she wanted to see right now.
Briar was still up in the room, probably packing her things. I didn't want to be there when she left, so I grabbed my wallet, then went for a walk.
That was five days ago though..
I hadn't seen Briar since then.
I also hadn't tried to make any form of communication with her either.
She hated me. That's all there was too it.
That's until my good friend, Trevor, came around, & explained how heroic he was just a few days prior. Then he mentioned a girl named Briar, & explained that she was attacked by an older guy, & was pinned against the concrete.
I immediately panicked. I hopped in my car, & drove around to her house.
I sprinted up the driveway, & knocked on her front door, repeatedly. I was surprised the door didn't fly off, I was knocking so hard.
After a good ten seconds of me knocking, I heard someone yell, "Be there in a second!" but it didn't sound like Briar's voice.
The sound of feet shuffling towards the door, grew louder; then the door suddenly opened, & I was greeted by Briar's sister, Abbey.
