Turns out that Bomi was the surgeon who was going to be in charge of his mother's surgery. They didn't have much say since she was the only surgeon specialized in orthopaedics, and his mother's surgery had high risk. Jungwoo knew that Bomi was his mother's best chance at living, but the second the woman had seen Bomi, she immediately refused.

"I'd much rather die than have the wench cutting off my leg." His mother retorted. Jungwoo looked away, not wanting to think about his mother's death.

"Eomma, don't say that, okay?" Jungwoo said, blinking away his tears. He avoided his mother's eyes, knowing that he would definitely break down if he were to meet them.

A knock on the door got both their attention and Jungwoo looked up to see a nurse standing there.

"Sorry to interupt, but I need to give your mother her meds and Dr. Kwon would like to speak to you, Jungwoo." Jungwoo nodded, getting up from his mother's side.

"I'll be right back." Jungwoo said, giving his mother a faint smile before lightly brushing her hair. His mother nodded, watching her son exit her hospital room.

Jungwoo closed the door behind him to see Bomi standing right there, holding a folder with his mother's name on it. She was in a purple dress, black hair down with her white doctor coat overtop.

"Let's go talk in my office." Bomi said. Jungwoo nodded, following the girl as she walked down the halls of the hospital, her heels clicking as she moved. She opened the door, motioning for Jungwoo to sit at the chair across from her desk before opening his mother's folder.

"I'm sure you're well-aware of your mother's situation so I just wanted to give you some updates on her condition." Bomi started, handing Jungwoo some of the scans of his mother.

"The circulation in her amputated leg is better, but the other one is still heavily affecting your mother's heart. In addition to your mother's weak heart condition, she needs this surgery as soon as possible." Bomi told him.

"I know the surgery has been put off several times due to the hefty amount of the surgical bills, but now that the problem is gone, I think we should operate as soon as possible, before it's too late."

"How soon?" Jungwoo asked, handing the scans back to her.

"If you can convince your mother, tomorrow." Jungwoo sat there, thinking.

"Complications are possible though, right?" Jungwoo asked Bomi. Bomi paused for a moment, running her fingers through her hair before answering.

"Yes, they are possible. Sugeries are very heavy on the heart, so it is possible that a patient's heart might stop in the middle." Bomi answered. She pulled out a white sheet, passing it to Jungwoo. He read the title.

Do Not Resuscitate Confirmation Form (DNR)

At the bottom was his mother's signature.

"What does this mean?" Jungwoo asked her.

"It means if your mother's heart stops in the middle of the surgery, we won't be reviving her." Bomi simply said. "Your mother, she signed it yesterday."

Jungwoo looked at it, sighing deeply before passing it back to her. "I'll see what I can do to convince my mother."

Bomi nodded, getting up from her seat. "Let's head back to your mother then."

The two walked in silence as they made their way to back to his mother's hospital room, just as the nurse was walking out. The nurse gave him a small smile.

"I finished the tests. You can head back in now." The nurse told him. Jungwoo thanked her, eyeing Bomi before entering the hospital room.

"Hi eomma." Jungwoo said, giving his mother a smile as he went to her bedside.

"Jungwoo." His mother responded, gently patting her son's hair.

"I have something to tell you." Jungwoo said staring into his mother's eyes.

"I do too, but you go first." His mother told him.

"They want to do your surgery as soon as possible, so if you agree, they'll do it tomorrow." Jungwoo told her. His mother slowly nodded her head, taking in Jungwoo's words.

"That's very soon." His mother said. Jungwoo let out a small sigh.

"Yes, but the sooner the better. What did you have to tell me?" Jungwoo asked, curiously looking at his mother. HIs mother glanced at the door, taking a deep breath before looking back at her son.

"I'll get the surgery."
