Eighteen- Remus

TIME SKIP TO HARRY'S CHRISTENING

A boy, Lily and James Potter had 10 months previous to now, birthed a happy healthy boy by the name of Harry.

This morning i dress accordingly in some shabby dress robes and i try to make myself look presentable for Harry's christening.

Lily and James have since moved out of the house we all shared together and have moved to Godrics Hollow which isn't far from here and i know Sirius has been house hunting, i think he feels it too awkward for us to be in the same house together

I apparate to the church in Godrics Hollow in which Harry's Christening would take place. I know that Sirius will be Harry's godfather which makes perfect sense considering James and Sirius have been best friends for an ungodly amount of time.

"Remus!" Exclaims Lily happily, cradling little Harry in her arms. Lily has aged slightly, she has done so well in her respects but at the same time as i look at her i see the bags under her eyes, representing the tiredness motherhood brings, the wrinkles by her eyes from all her smiles, the lines in her forehead from all her frowns, her once bright vibrant face now shadowed by the burdens and surprises motherhood brings "Lils, hows motherhood going?" i ask

"Harry's a dream honestly and James can't get enough of the little man. You wanna hold him?" asks Lily, i nod, taking Harry carefully out of Lily's arms and cradling him in my own, i stare into his green eyes and smile "he has your eyes" i state, Lily smiles "let's hope he inherits more from me, I'm sure James was the devil child" jokes Lily, i laugh heartily and another person joins, one i know all too well

"is this my little godson? of course it is, look at the little tyke!" Exclaims Sirius happily as he coos over Harry "oh, and Lils, i can confirm James was the devil" adds Sirius, Lily's face contorts into a knowing yet slightly victorious smile as we walk into the church "can i hold him before the whole thing begins?" asks Sirius, Lily nods and i carefully hand Harry over to Sirius who takes him happily

"we are gathered here today for the Christening of Harry James Potter" begins the Vicar, we sing a few hymns and  the vicar says some stuff (this is all muggle stuff really it was mainly for Lily's sake anyways) eventually it got to the godparents thing "may all the godparent's stand up?" asks the Vicar, sadly there was no plural, it was only one which seemed to have baffled the vicar but he continued nonetheless as Sirius stood proudly in front of us all

"do you promise to protect your godson, Harry James Potter, if anything were to happen to his patents?" asks the vicar "i do" replies Sirius almost dutifully and the vicar nods "do you promise to take Harry in as your own if anything were to happen to his parents?" asks the vicar "i do" replies Sirius. In short, the vicar asked Sirius questions and then anointed him godfather to Harry.

We all depart the church and everyone leaves, Lily decided against a party and decided that a small gathering of me, her, James, Sirius and Peter would do just fine for us all.

We're only at the house an hour or so before there's a knock at the door, James opens it and in walks Albus Dumbledore "Dumbledore, hello" says Lily gracefully "hello, I'm sorry I know that this is a special day for you and your son however I have come to be the bearer of bad news" states Dumbledore "what bad news?" asks James

"It seems as though a dark wizard by the name of Lord Voldemort is at large, he intends to hunt you down, find you and kill you, his main target, I believe, is Harry, it has come to my attention that Voldemort has got wind of a certain prophecy concerning your son. I haven't got information on when he is to perform this sort of attack but i doubt he's willing to wait very long" states Dumbledore, everyone in the room seems dumbfounded. Everyone except Peter who seemed to be feigning shock, he's not much of a good actor

"what should we do?" asks Lily in a concerned voice "my best advice would be to go into hiding the both of you and have a secret keeper, one that you would trust with your life which is what you would basically be doing, they will then be the only ones who know where you are and can tell whomever they wish if they see it wise, I do advise you, however, to choose your secret keeper wisely. As you know, The Order Of The Phoenix will do its best to protect you and as much as you would wish to do your services to the Order, our best interests are your safety. Let's not mention all the work and effort you've put into the Order already. You two are fine wizards and I'm sure Harry will take after the both of you and as much as I'm positive you could take on Lord Voldemort it is said he is powerful and has a wide range of followers so i believe it is better to be safe than sorry" explains Dumbledore

James and Lily take a moment to process the information just given to them before Lily nods "thank you, Albus, I'm grateful for the warning and James and I would love to fight with the Order rather than be stuck in hiding but our best interests are with Harry's safety and so we will go into hiding but as you must understand it will take us a bit of time- not long- to decide our secret keeper" says Lily, Dumbledore smiles calmly "of course, just let the Order know when you have found the place in which you are hiding and whom your secret keeper may be" replies Dumbledore.

and with that he was gone.

i hope you're enjoying this so far, this is mainly where there are going to be a few time skips but hopefully not many and this may turn out to be longer than anticipated but ah well a bit more wolfstar never hurt anyone :))
