Yoongi rolled his eyes, fed up with Jin's kindness and sympathy. Luckily, before a squabble could erupt, Jimin quickly came up with a solution. "We don't actually need a fire we just need to create an illusion that there is one."

He didn't wait for an answer of conformation and sauntered over the the nearby wall, flipping up a plastic cover and slamming a hand over the fire alarm. The loud shrieking noise echoed through the halls, and the boys all flashed a grateful look towards Jimin.

He blushed as they praised him and coughed awkwardly. "Come on, if they haven't realised that we've escaped, they'll definitely know now."

Jimin's words spoke truth and the boys hurriedly hurtled themselves down the halls, Namjoon occasionally falling behind as he struggled under the pressure of the mind control. But, the guard's usefulness was still essential to their escape and Namjoon had to hold on just a bit longer.

They quickly came across their second problem when they encountered a large industrial steel door which could only be opened by a key card.

"Does he have a key?" Yoongi asked, sending a pointed stare towards the guard who looked rather tipsy as Namjoon's control continued to hold.

"Guards don't have key cards," Jin announced. "Only the scientists do. We're trapped."

The boy's instantly erupted into a bunch of sighs and shouts of indignation whilst Jungkook snuck past them and examined the electric lock. Without really thinking about the consequences of his action, he curled his hand into a fist and sent it sailing into the lock. He felt the metal crumble under his touch and heard the reassuring rumble of the door unlocking.

The boys all turned to look at the damage and Jin rushed forward, grabbing Jungkook's hands and examining any potential injuries that he might have sustained. "Are you crazy Jeon Jungkook? You could have been electrocuted!"

Jungkook smiled sheepishly but he had little time to explain his recklessness as the boys had to continue their advance towards the looming freedom.

It wasn't long before an exit door was in sight and Namjoon released his command over the guard and Jungkook knocked him out. He wasn't needed anymore and Namjoon's control was teetering on the edge.

He wasn't doing too good. The whole mind control business had stripped him of all his energy and now his legs felt like jelly as he tried to drag himself along. When he fell, a feeble groan escaping from his lips, Hoseok and Jungkook quickly hauled him off the floor. They had gone too far to give up now.

However, when they were mere metres away from escape, a angry cry came from the end of the corridor as a group of eight, equiped guards ambushed them. Held in their arms were tranquilliser guns and they had a whole assortment of protective gear on. The whole boys were frozen in fear. They were strong but if one of them got hit and they had to carry, not only Namjoon, but another wounded person, they would crumble under the pressure.

In a weak attempt, Namjoon held up his hands and tried to use his telekinesis to throw something, anything at the attackers but it just resulting in him flopping onto the floor, once more, like a fish on land. This was it- unless Yoongi or Jimin summoned one of their elements, they wouldn't escape. Or at least that was what they thought.

"When I say run, you run," Taehyung commanded. The boys looked at him curiously and almost warily. They didn't know much about him after all but they had frankly run out of options.

"Run!" Taehyung shouted as suddenly a whole mass of humans appeared, creating a shield between the boys and the guards. It was only when they glanced back that they realised that Taehyung had duplicated himself so that his bodies had created a protective barrier.

Gunshots rang through the room, cutting down the fake Taehyung's as the boys raced for their lives. There was no time to breathe as they all piled towards a doorway, pulled it open and stepped into the light.

Without hesitation, Jungkook ripped off a pipe from the wall and threaded it through the door handles, twisting the metal so that the door would be impossible to open from the inside.

There was banging from the guards but the boys were all incoherent to the noise; they were free.

"Quick let's get out of here," Jin said, helping to pull the drowsy Namjoon.
None of the boys complained. It wasn't the end yet. As soon as more people realised of their breakout, they'd be like a wanted criminal. Everyone would be searching for them.

"Wait."

Yoongi stepped forward and sent a angry glare to the laboratory where he'd been trapped for four years.

"I think we should set it aflame. That means that all their research will be lost," he clarified so that the others didn't think of him as an uncaring arsonist.

Jin shook his head. "No way, they don't deserve that."

Yoongi almost shouted in anger as he pointed an accusing finger at the building. "This isn't time for sentimental attachment Seokjin. They ruined our lives. Ruined. And they will continue to do so if someone doesn't stop them."

Jimin stepped forwards so that his shoulder pressed against the irritated boy's. "I agree."

Jin shot him a look that screamed pure betrayal. Jimin was never the sort of person to wish harm inflicted onto others, they always agreed on that. "We set off the fire alarm, there shouldn't be too many people left inside. Those who are will have time to escape." He reassured.

Jin was still begrudging but, they were probably right. If their research was destroyed, they wouldn't be able to manipulate more innocent children to their will.

"Do it."

With that, the building set aflame.

The cause of all their pain and torment floating away as speckles of ash.

It felt liberating.
