 "Achi, you know I can't."

"Yes, you can!" pilit niya.

And just like that, I snapped.

"Sige nga, paano kapag nagkagirlfriend ka na?"

"Who says I'll have one?" taas kilay niyang sabi.

"Paano kapag nagkapamilya ka na?"

"Who says I'll get married?" 

"Tangina mo."

"Who says you can curse me?"

"Stop bullshitting me, Achi. 'Wag mo akong paasahin." inis kong sabi.

"Stop thinking about the what ifs, Ruhee. Can't we just live at the moment?"

"Achi, stop it. You know that it's impo-"

"Mahal kita."

The anger inside me is starting to ignite when I realized what he just said.

I stared blankly at him, dumbfounded even.

"What did you just say?" I asked him.

"May sinabi ba ko?" tanong niya pabalik.

"Meron, sabi mo.." shit. It's embarrassing to say. Am I just being delusional?

I looked at him and he's just there staring at me.

Maybe I just misheard it.

"Forget it, I thought you sa-"

"Mahal kita."

"There! You said it again! Mali ba ko nang naririnig?" sabi ko habang natataranta.

"Am I still dreaming? Because if I am then please don't wake me up." I said almost hysterically.

Achi chuckled.

"Are you bluffing?" I asked him.

"You tell me. Am I bluffing?" he teased.

"Seriously, do you mean it?" hindi ko pa rin makapaniwalang tanong.

"Ruhee, you know I don't bluff."

"Pero, paano? Bakit?" nakakunot noo kong tanong.

"Ayaw mo ba? Edi 'wag." nakakunot noo niya ding sabi.

"Wait no, no, no. I just can't believe it. You've never shown it." I said accusingly.
