''Oh. um I'm Octavia'' the girl said and stuck out her hand. Astrid shuck her hand with a small smile on her face for the first time in a while.
''I'm Astrid. Octavia do you know what's happening?'' Astrid asked but Octavia didn't have time to answer until the one and only Jaha interrupted them. Astrid didn't give a shit about him so she zoned out on the speech. The only thing she heard was 'expandable' and it made her blood boil.
''Your dad's a dick Wells!'' a delinquent shouted and snickers could be heard throughout the crowd. Astrid looked around and spotted Wells Jaha. The dick's son. And he was talking to none other then Clarke Griffin. The self-centered bitch Astrid hated. Oh and Astrid's ex-bestfriend. But that didn't matter anymore. Clarke was talking to Wells and three people were floating around. Astrid recognized one of them as Finn Collins the idiot who wasted three months of air. But Astrid knew the truth. She knew it was Raven. Because she was friends with Raven. Still is.
The ship jerked and the three boys flew to the ground. Octavia grabbed Astrid's hand and squeezed it hard. And Astrid did the same. Kids were shouting and screaming. Then the ship stopped. It was a tense silence.
''Listen, no machine hum'' a boy Astrid recognized as Monty said.
''Whoa. That's a first'' another boy Astrid recognized as Jasper said. Astrid knew the two boys but she couldn't say they were exactly friends. They didn't exactly have time to become friends. Belts started unbuckling. Octavia and Astrid sat up still hand in hand. Astrid could see Clarke checking up on Finn and the two other boys that were clearly dead.
''The outer door is on the lower level! Let's go!'' a boy shouted and kids including Astrid and Octavia climbed down where a guard was calming kids down. He was in one word, hot. His dark brown hair was pulled back with gel but you could see it was curly. He had freckles on his face. His deep brown eyes were looking around at all the kids.
''Hey just back it up guys'' his deep voice said. Damn.
''Stop. The air could be toxic'' Clarke said once she came next to Astrid and Octavia.
''If the air is toxic we are all dead anyway Clarke'' Astrid hissed at the girl and a look of realization came over Clarke's face. Before she could say anything Octavia spoke up.
''Bellamy?'' she said and walked towards the guard. The guard looked at her and smiled. Octavia went towards him and hugged him tight. He did the same.
''My god. Look how big you are'' the guy Bellamy said. Astrid couldn't help but smile at the interaction she wouldn't have with anyone.
''What the hell are you wearing, a guard's uniform?'' Octavia asked confused.
''I borrowed it to get on the drop ship. Someone has got to keep an eye on you'' Bellamy said with a grin.
''Where's your wristband?'' Clarke interrupted and Astrid couldn't help but glare at the blonde.
''Do you mind? I haven't seen my brother in a year'' Octavia snapped and that's how Astrid came to the realization that these were the Blake siblings. In reality Astrid was a big fan of their mother Aurora. She helped her a couple times and didn't ask questions when she brought more food and more clothes. Aurora thanked her many times for not telling. Astrid eventually found out she had two kids and Aurora was terrified but Astrid promised not to say anything. She didn't meet the two kids and it was all to late because Aurora was floated and the younger sibling was arrested. But Astrid made a promise to protect them and now she would protect them. Octavia. She would protect Octavia.
''No one has a brother'' someone next to Astrid said. She couldn't help but elbow him in the stomach a little.
''That's Octavia Blake the girl they found hidden under the floor'' someone on Astrid's left said and Octavia wanted to lunge at them but stopped when she saw Astrid elbow them in the stomach really hard. Astrid smiled at Octavia and she smiled back.
''Octavia let's give them something else to remember you by'' Bellamy said once he stopped watching the interaction between his sister and the other girl he couldn't help but feel like he knew.
''Yeah, like what?'' Octavia asked. Bellamy seemed to have trouble with the answer so Astrid answered instead.
''Like being the first person on earth in 97 years'' she said and smiled at Octavia. Octavia's eyes lightened with Astrid's statement and Bellamy turned to turn the lever, a big smile on his face.
Once he turned the lever Astrid was partially blinded by the brightness. She covered her eyes a little but let her hand down after a couple seconds. Her jaw dropped at the scene in front of her. Trees. So many trees. And a blue sky. A real blue sky. You could see the clouds. She stopped observing when someone grabbed her hand. She looked to see who it was only to see Octavia dragging her outside. She didn't want to but Octavia didn't let go. The two girls did one step at a time until they reached right in front of the grass. They jumped down on the grass with the biggest smiles on their faces. Octavia and Astrid looked at each other and grinned before they held their hands up and screamed.
''We're back bitches!''
