Taehyung rocked himself back and forth on his knees, trying to calm himself down. But the guilt that rushed over him in that moment was powerful and overwhelming, it hit him like a ton of bricks, causing him to be unable to get on his feet once more. He cried and cried, unable to imagine how much of Jisoo's life he had ruined.
"I can't believe I- I-"
"We've wasted way too much time, Kim Taehyung-" Jisoo bit her lower lip as she crawled over next to Taehyung, cupping his face in her hands and guiding him to look up into her eyes. "Listen - I'm done with all this. Everything is in the past now - as long as our feelings for each other are true, there's nothing we cannot overcome together."
Taehyung calmed down a little.
Jisoo watched Taehyung with sad eyes. This guy suffered just as much as she did, getting abused without her even knowing, working his ass off to pay off the debts that weren't even his. Maybe, in a way, her agony in the past few years could be seen as a way of sharing his burden. Jisoo's feelings for Taehyung overwhelmed her, and she looked down at him with a fond look in his eyes.
"Kim Taehyung."
"Mm-" Taehyung's face was still cupped gently in Jisoo's hands, but his eyes wandered.
"Taehyung-ah."
"Mm."
"Look at me."
Slowly, Taehyung lifted his eyes to meet hers and the moment they met, Taehyung knew.
"I love you."

Jisoo leaned down and pressed her lips against Taehyung's, their breaths mingling with a combination of their salty tears and their sweet touch. Taehyung's eyes fluttered shut momentarily, and fluttered open once more as Jisoo pulled away.
"I love you," Jisoo repeated as she kept her hands cupped around Taehyung's face. "I love you so much, Kim Taehyung."
"I love you too," Taehyung's voice was shaky as he reached out and held Jisoo's face in his big warm hands. "Kim Jisoo, I love you more than I can ever describe."
Taehyung leaned in once more, and Jisoo's eyes fluttered shut naturally.
"Ahem! Ahem!"
A loud voice filled the balcony, and Taehyung and Jisoo quickly backed away from each other and got to their feet awkwardly as their best friends joined them.
"Sorry for interrupting, we really didn't mean to intrude..." Jennie laughed awkwardly as she slapped Jisoo teasingly on her back. "But we just came up to bid farewell... it's getting late after all, we all have to carry on with the wall mural tomorrow."
