"Do you remember back when you were in high school... it was your birthday and you went to a café to buy yourself a cake?"
"Why would I..." Taehyung's eyes lit up. "Oh- my 18th birthday?"
"Mmhmm-" Jisoo grinned. "You saved up for that cake for a whole week, but gave if to a little boy who had the same birthday as you did, because his mom couldn't afford a cake for him. I was really touched by that."
"Don't tell me..." Taehyung's eyes widened to twice their usual size. "Don't tell me the cake I got after that-"
"That was me," Jisoo said with a grin. "After you left the shop, looking really disappointed, I went up to the counter and got you the exact same cake."
"You..." Taehyung gasped loudly. "I should have guessed! The counter lady told me they had messed up someone's order and had an extra of this cake... I found it a bit suspicious but thought it must have just been a stroke of luck... but it was you?"
"Mmhmm, it was me-" Jisoo chuckled softly. "As I hid myself and watched you walk away with a huge smile on my face, I felt like everything I did was worth it. You deserved the cake after all - the both of you, since it was both your birthday and his."

"Wait... so you liked me since then?" Taehyung raised his eyebrows. "Don't tell me... you stalked me all the way to university?"
Jisoo laughed as she shook her head. "No, it wasn't to that extent. The first time I saw what you did for the little boy in the café, I just thought you seemed to be a great guy. I just came from arguing with my parents at that particular time too, so seeing you do something so kind... really warmed my heart on such a cold rainy day."
Taehyung chuckled softly. "It's not to that extent."
"But the events after that was purely coincidental," Jisoo promised. "I didn't recognise you when I first bumped into you, or even when we met again at calc. Only after going home and thinking of you for a long time, I suddenly realised that your name sounded familiar. And your face too... and I put the pieces of the puzzle together."
