I follow behind him as TItus leads me out the lobby door, instantly, the regret of not putting on a jacket fills me as the brittle air brushes against my skin, I feel my skin grow bumpy as goosebump rise and a shiver runs through my spine. I hear Titus chuckle as he slips the blazer off his shoulders, placing it around me. "Wait- you're gonna get col-,"
"Werewolf body heat, tesoro. I don't understand how you haven't worked that out yet." I roll my eyes at him as i push my arms through the sleeves, grabbing his hand. "Okay, I get it." I say laughing. We walk in silence, a comfortable, useful silence. Our sides bumping against one another occasionally. The bright lights from the city shining down on us. Its not something i'm used to. Ive lived my whole life in a small town, never travelled.
"Ya know, we can travel more if you want." Titus says, Catching my attention. "We could go anywhere in the world." I laugh slightly as i watch my surroundings, "I wouldn't know where to go,"
"Italy?" He comments. Another laugh escapes me, "Boy, you had me fooled with the whole Italian act 'til i had a sit down with your mom and discovered that the only thing Italian about you is that you can speak it and your great grandfather was one."
"Still, Italian." He says smug, "Yea about 10% Italian," He chuckles, tightening his grip slightly before i continue, "But Italy would be nice." Titus smiles at me, the urge to say ' i told you so' radiating off him but he decides against it. "How about Hawaii, or England?"
"Those are two very different places, Baby. One is tropical and warm, The other is historical and gloomy."
"But what if we saw the queen, that would be so cool!" Titus chuckles at my slight excitement before stopping, "What?" I question. He doesnt respond, pausing for a few moments before shaking his head and continuing on. "I didn't realise there was a pack nearby, thats all."
"How do you know?" I comment causing Titus to look over at me. "A wolf can smell when they're near pack borders, same as an Alpha, when in those borders, can tell when a rogue or other pack crosses those borders. When you invited your 'friends' they'd been there a while so while i knew something was up, i didn't know what, however Lance and my guards should've been able to smell them."
"Oh," I comment, not exactly knowing how to respond. "Anyway, we've crossed into pack territory, which means we're bound to be approached at some point. It's ridiculous to have a pack in the city, its so busy, rogues are bound to come and go." While i dont completely understand, I listen in on the rant Titus continues to have until we stand outside a restaurant. "It's not safe." He finishes, i smile up at him, he puts everyones safety first. I got lucky to find someone with that trait.
"Is this where we're eating?" I questioned, grimacing slightly at the seemingly over the top restaurant we'd stopped outside, "I knew thats the face you'd pull as soon as we got here." He comments, chuckling, "No, however that little place is." He says pointing to a small bulding on the other side of the road. Its another 'fancy' restaurant but smaller and it looks a lot less expensive.
"Thank the lord." Titus chuckles as we cross. I go slightly faster at the sound of the car earning Titus laughing at me, "They could see us from miles away, they aren't gonna run us over."
"I have your baby inside me, you'd think you'd want me to be more careful if anything." Titus shakes his head at my sarcastic comment,I know he cares. He makes sure i know it too.
