A is for Anniversary

Summary: it's Kelly and Stella's 1 year anniversary and Kelly wants it to be perfect but things don't go to plan.

Kelly wake up smiled, he turned to face the love of his love who was fast asleep and snoring softly. He quietly got up so he didn't wake her and got started on with his plan.

It was their one year anniversary and Kelly wanted to make sure it would be remembered forever. He had planned the perfect day and that started with breakfast.

He made her favourite, eggs on toast, and put it on a tray along with coffee and a rose. He brought it into the room just as she was waking up.

"What's this?" She asks sitting up.

"Your anniversary breakfast," he said and handed her the tray.

"Aww Kelly, it's wonderful," she says and kisses him.

He goes back into the kitchen and gets his. They eat it in bed and then go take the trays back out into the kitchen.

He wraps his arms around her waist.
"Want to here the plan for the day?" He asks and she nods.
"So I was thinking we could go down to the lake and then we could have dinner at your favourite restaurant," he says and kisses her cheek.
"That's sounds wonderful," Stella replies and they both go and get ready. Kelly packs a picnic hamper for lunch and they head off to the beach.

They get to the lake and can hear the water crashing against the sand. There was a breeze which while wasn't strong was enough to blow stellas hair all over the place.

They found a nice spot on the sand and laid down there picnic blanket and hamper. The journey to the lake took longer than anticipated so it was already lunch. They sat down and Kelly took out all the food.

"Dammit," he said in frustration.

"What is it?" Stella asks confused.

"I forgot to be being drinks," he says and is disappointed in himself.

"Hey, that's ok, we can get some at the cafe over there in a bit," Stella says and rubs his shoulder comfortingly knowing he wanted everything to be perfect and he nods and hands her a paper plate.

They fill their plates with food and begin eating. They make small talk and laugh at each other's stupid jokes mainly out of sympathy. After wards Stella helps Kelly clean it up and they lay on the picnic blanket hand in hand listening to the waves crash softly against the sand.

"This is lovely," Stella says turning to face Kelly and he nods and puts his arm over her shoulder and she leans her head on him and they stay there enjoying the calmness of it.

They stayed like that for a while until Kelly checked his phone.
"Come we better get going for dinner," he says and helps her up before gathering everything and getting into the car.

Kelly pulled into a parking space and they walked over to towards the restaurant. Kelly groaned loudly when he saw the long queue outside the restaurant.

"Hey, it's fine, did you book a reservation?" She asks and groans again.

"Ugh, I forget I'm sorry Stella this was meant to be perfect. We only get a first year anniversary once," he says avoiding her eyes.

"Oh Kelly, this has been perfect because you're here and were together," she says and she kisses him.
