THUNDER'S POV

"I stopped breathing."

Fifteen minutes. That's the time I was trying to beat. The time that felt like eternity knowing that every second pushes Hera in more danger. And those minutes, the words she told me was like a ghost that kept on whispering in my ear.

I can feel my heart constricting as if the air in my chest is being sucked out of me. Because I know...I know that at this very moment, Hera is losing air bit by bit.

"I called for a local rescue team. They will be there in six minutes."

"We don't have six minutes."

"Kuya-"

I will pull Hera out with my bare hands, even if I need to scrape through metal, even if I bleed...I will get her out.

The vision of the truck marks on the dirt is ingrained in my brain as I jumped in the water without a second thought.

"Don't leave me."

I should have assured her. Dapat pinaliwanag ko sa kaniya lahat. I should know better that to hide anything from her.

Life has always been short for me. I was reckless...fearless.

Until Hera. I never been afraid of losing anything, not even my own life, until I found her.

"She's in there for about fifteen minutes, E. Maybe even more."

I can still hear them. Erebus and Nyx were just right on my tail. They probably arrived.

"She'll be fine."

"E-"

"Hera's the best when it comes to enduring things. You heard her. That woman has a will of steel."

I heard dozens of stories and I witnessed most of them. Hera can take the word endurance in a different level. She can handle heat, cold, and to be put in a lot of difficult situation without breaking a sweat. But not like this.
