A/n: Reminder: I'm a Jem girl. Doesn't have anything to do with the plot, but I'm just saying. If I can't have Raphael, I will happily take Jem.

So. You have this thing called "the Sight." All this time, you were thinking you were crazy, but you weren't. The world was full of monsters. The Shadowhunters fought them. So now you were here, at this place called the Institute. You were wandering around, trying to learn how to navigate this maze of a building, when you heard music. Someone was playing a violin. You walked into the library, and saw a boy about a year older than you. Everything about him was silver. It was peculiar, but unique. And he was beautiful. You could tell by the shape of his eyes that he wasn't from here, and they looked Chinese, or somewhere close by to there.

You didn't alert him to your presence, mainly because you were to mesmerized by his playing.  But he noticed you anyway. You had noticed that about these Shadowhunters. Nothing slipped by them. He seemed to hesitate over his strings, like he wasn't expecting something, but then he continued playing, but he had a small smile on his lips as well. He was amazing at his craft.

You sat down across from his, not saying anything, just watching his facial expressions and his hands as he strung out note after perfect note. When he finished, he looked up at you.

"Sorry about that, that one's been playing in my head for about a week, so I decided I would try to play it out loud. I'm James Carstairs, by the way, but everyone here besides Will calls me Jem," He said. Even his voice sounded silver.

I smiled at him. "I'm Y/n."

Then a whirlwind of a young man burst in waving his hands around like a mad man. I had to admit, he was attractive, but he seemed like the kind of person that you could never truly catch. Jem, however seemed like he may not be an easy catch, but it was indeed possible. And he seemed like he could soothe anyone, based on the look he gives this dark haired boy.

"What is it, Will?" So this was Will. I saw the affection between the two of them, and a word that was spoken a while ago popped into my head. Parabatai. That's what these two were.

"Benedict Lightworm has the pox!" He said excitedly. The "pox?"

Jem looked up startled. "But... that was supposed to be a joke, Will. The pox doesn't exist."

Will was already shaking his head before Jem even finished. "He has it, Jem. And the best part?" Jem raised his eyebrows. "He's a worm now, Jem. A worm." He laughed and then seemed to notice you for the first time. He looked confused. "Who are you?" He asked.

"Y/n." I decided it was best not to mention the "pox" ordeal that somehow turned someone into a worm. That was not my problem. Jem noticed the look on my face.

"Demon pox. No one except Will believed it was real until now, apparently."

Then Will started to sing:

"Demon pox, oh demon pox

Just how is it acquired?

One must go down to the bad part of town

Until one is very tired.

Demon pox, oh demon pox, I had it all along—

Not the pox, you foolish blocks,

I mean this very song—

For I was right, and you were wrong!"

Jem rolled his eyes. "Does Charlotte know?"

Will gasped. "No. No, she doesn't. I must go tell her." Then he ran out as fast as he had run in.

I looked at Jem. "Is he always like this?" He laughed.

"No, he's usually more moody. He's just extremely excited to be right about this. He's gone on about it for years now."

I grasped up my courage and decided to flirt with him a bit, to see how he would respond to me. I scooted closer, just enough to let him notice. He seemed surprised but didn't move away from me.

"What about you? What are you like?" He smiled at me, seemingly happy that I preferred him to his parabatai.

Sorry that would've happened sooner but I fell in love with a pupper and had to deal with some shit in the soap opera that it is my life.

As always, I would like to thank my one reader who Ik is steadily reading this. Alright, hopefully tomorrow I'll have Will's chapter up. Lmk ur thoughts, bitches.

XOXO,
Tina
