Controling It

Over the ocean Hiccup and Toothless flew back to Dragon island and when they arrived Toothless was about to land on the beach but Hiccup stopped him "not here bud, you're probably going to hate this but we need to go into the top of the mountain and into the red death cave" he said pointing to the vase like mountain

Toothless groaned in response, he hated that place, it still gives him the creeps "I knew you weren't going to like but that's the only place I can practice this without anyone seeing" he said, Toothless growled and opened his wings and flew upwards toward the opening in the mountain peek

Toothless worked as hard as he could as he flapped his wings to get to the top, wen they finally got there Hiccup patted his friend and this was the only part Toothless liked, he closed his wings and went straight into a nose dive into the cave, "woo hoo" Hiccup yelled as they plummeted into the mountain

When they entered fog was all around them, but Hiccup knew that Toothless isn't need to see to be able to fly, Toothless sensed the ground so he opened his wings slowing them down and bringing them to a gradual hover in the air, the ground was just a few feet away from them so Hiccup put Toothless' tail into landing position and he touched down with ease

Hiccup dismounted Toothless' saddle and looked around, fog was everywhere around him he couldn't see ten feet in front of him, Toothless growled and started to flap his wings, after a couple of flaps the fog started to move and circle into a tornado type fashion, then he stopped flapping and he charged up a huge plasma blast and fired it at the spinning fog, on impact the fireball exploded causing all the fog to disappear into thin air

"Thanks buddy" Hiccup said patting his head "what is that?" Hiccup gasped as he looked up as all around him there were little sparkling crystals that surrounded the walls of the cave "crystals? they're everywhere" he gasped in shock of the beauty of it all, he walked up to one side if the cave and in front if him sat a little crystal sparkling in the moon light, he reached out to touch it and as he did he felt a huge surge of electricity flow through his arms

He then had a theory "could these crystals help boost my powers?" he thought to himself, he reached out to the shining crystal again and when he touched it he felt the electricity flow through his arms again, it hurt immensely but he didn't remove his had from the crystal, then he felt something odd, he felt like he was becoming more and more powerful as he held into this crystal

Concerned for his own health he let go of the small shard and as he did a huge pulse pushed him backwards sending him flying through the air, Toothless saw his rider in danger and he jumped into the air and caught the collar of his tunic in his mouth and gently set him back on his feet "thanks Toothless" he said dusting himself down, then he noticed his hands were glowing a dark purple colour, he then noticed a couple of boulders around the cave

He walked over to them and stopped a few feet away, he took a deep breath and made his hands claw like, copying what he did earlier he focused on the boulder and then as he pushed his arms out to strike it with lightning, the boulder went flying in the opposite direction "what?" Hiccup gasped "did you see that Toothless?" he said pointing to the boulder that flew across the room

Toothless nodded with his eyes as wide as water melons, Hiccup looked back at another boulder and once again curled up his fingers so his hands were in a claw like position, then with one arm he raised his hand in a lifting motion as he focused intensely on the boulder, the boulder didn't fly across the cave this time, but instead began to levitate and just floated in the air

Hiccup's eyes went wide with shock and pure astonishment, he then brought his arm above his head and the boulder glided over to him and stopped right above him, they were directly underneath the entrance they came into before, then Hiccup made his other free hand into a flat palm and with a deep breath his grunted at shoved his hand towards the floating rock and as he did the boulder shot into the air and into the night sky like nothing he had ever seen

Hiccup stood there frozen for a second, completely taken by these new abilities he had "Toothless?" he chuckled as he looked at his friend who was wagging his tail and bouncing round happily, Hiccup thought he would be scared of what he could do but as it turns out he was incredibly impressed

"Okay, now I have to try this lightning thing" Hiccup said as he walked over to Toothless and opened up the satchel attached to his saddle and reached inside for something to use as a target, he then pulled out an apple and placed it in the middle of the cave and then stepped back a few feet with Toothless right behind him, he then took a deep breath and once more he turned his hands claw like and focus on what he wanted to do

Then with a loud battle cry he threw his hands forward and just as he want led lightning struck the apple and burnt it to a crisp "ha ha YES" Hiccup yelled fist pumping the air and jumping around, he then saw a large log of wood in a far corner covered in rocks, he used one arm to lift the boulders away and they moved with ease and when the wood was visible Hiccup stretched his other hand out and he struck it with many lightning bolts setting the wood alight

"Yes yes yes, haha I did it bud" Hiccup yelled happily, he finally knew how to control his powers and he could save Astrid, Toothless was bouncing around happily with his tongue flapping about with his adorable gummy smile, Hiccup then ran over to him as hugged his best friend "thank you for helping me buddy, you are amazing" Hiccup said, Toothless purred and licked Hiccup's face making him laugh

As Hiccup wiped the slobber of his face there was a huge crash from behind him and he felt little bits of rubble hit his back, he turned round and saw the boulder from earlier that he sent on a flight had come back down and crash landed where it departed "well I guess that could have landed in a worse place, am I right bud" he said as he looked over at Toothless and noticed he was sleeping

Hiccup smiled and laughed quietly "how can you be bouncing around the place one second then be fast asleep the next?" he wondered "I will never understand dragons" he said as he laid against his dragons chest and fell asleep too

If he was to save Astrid he needed all the energy he could get and that is what he was going to do
