Chapter 5 - Attack - ( Part 2 )

" EMERALD, GO BEFORE YOU GET HURT! "

" NO! I'M A CRYSTAL GEM, I STAND MY GROUND WITH YOU TOO! "

" Emerald, you need to go, THEY'RE GONNA TAKE YOU! "

" ...I'm not letting that happen. "

Steven panicked. He knew she wasn't ready - power wise - and that she'd get hurt, but he didn't want to bring down her hopes. In fact, he felt this way to once.

" Now look back at the grey tall lady, I can deal with the purple lady by myself! "

" Emerald—all you have is the shield! "

" Then I'll just throw it, like you do! "

Lavender would walk past the gems and Steven and straight to Emerald, raising her hand in the air, her hand covered in lavender smoke.

" You think you can run? You think you can hide here on this abandoned planet? You can't run from every problem.. "

" Or else they keep..COMING..BACK. "

At this point, Lavender was close enough to Emerald, who confidently held the shield like Steven.

" You're not taking me, prune! "

" What's this? A humidifier- ohhhhh myyyyyy goshhhhhh- "

" Oh this is always my least favourite part of my power, whoever's under the control is always..too relaxed at first.. "

" You're not..taking me..alive. "

Emerald was completely frozen, stuck within the lavender smoke. Lavender began to grab Emerald p, but Steven used a shield to hit her in the head.

The fog had gone away quickly after that, it Emerald was still stuck, not even able to speak. Lavender would turn around to face Steven.

" You leave Emerald alone or you'll, " he began " sUfFeR tHe cOnSeQuEnCeS." He said mockingly.

" You need some manners young man! "

" Yeah, and you need the cops, old lady. "

The smoke's effect was coming off of Emerald, enough for her to speak. " Dad I didn't know you could roast someone! " She laughed really hard when she heard him.

" Dad? How appalling, you call this your 'dad'? "

" Well I mean..he's my dad, yeah. "

Lavender would groan and just grab Emerald.

" HEY, LEMME GO! "

Emerald quickly bit Lavender's hand, causing her to let go and drop Emerald.

Steven would catch Emerald.

" You need to listen to me more, Emerald! "
" ..But you also did bite someone to get out of their grasp which..uuh kudos to you! "

Honestly Steven was proud of Emerald for standing her ground and escaping a Diamond's grasp. Sure, not fully, but it was a good start.

Lavender got up an realized maybe Emerald was going to be harder to get, so she just went with Steven instead. She grabbed him and ran quickly to her ship. " GREY WE HAVE WHAT WE NEED RETREAT! "

Grey would just walk into her ship and close the doors as Lavender's was flying away.

" DAAAAD "

" GET BACK HERE WITH MY DAD! "

" STEVEN! " The Crystal gems cried out sadly.

But calling out his name wasn't going to make them turn around and bring him back. He was going to Homeworld Beta and so were the Crystal Gems and Emerald.

The sky was already cloudy and a storm was nearing. Emerald sat on the sand, looking down.

" They took him..and I let them.. "

She looked up, her eyes and cheeks glowing.

" But I'll make sure they never do it again. "

As she said this, a deep roar of thunder and a flash of lightning struck.
