Chapter 4 - Attack - ( Part 1 )

Steven remained quiet.

Steven would constantly keep looking back at the hands, their energy charge gaining more and more power

" Dad? DAD PLEASE LET ME OUT! "

" I'm sorry Emerald. I know it's hard to watch this happen, I've been through it but I don't need you being hurt.. "

At last, one of the ships - the grey one to be specific - blasted a ray of energy towards the car. Steven had to act fast. He grabbed Emerald, held her, and began to form a bubble, but unfortunately the ray had hit the car as he did so.

As the ray hit, Emerald screamed. They were blasted out of the destroyed car from a piece of burning metal. " Dad? Wake up! DAD! DA- " her bubble violently hit an edge. She screamed a little before getting blacked out temporarily.

As she was out, her bubble popped automatically.

After two minutes or so, she had awakened but Steven has not.

" Dad? "

She nudged him.

" Daddy? Wake up! Please please wake up.. "

She put her hand on his chest, but she didn't know how it worked, since she only saw it in movies.

She began to tear up. " I coulda saved you... "

She fell back and just waited.

Minutes felt like hours. It was only a matter of time before the arm ships landed on earth.

Emerald would lay down next to Steven and slept.

Steven would jolt awake and cough a little blood before screaming " I LOVE YOU- " really suddenly.

Emerald would scream awake.

She'd gasp. " DAD! DAD I THOUGHT I LOST YOU! "

" We need to go. " He tried getting up, but he just fell over. Instead he just rolled the bubble quickly.

When they finally reached the temple, Steven popped the bubble, grabbed Emerald, and ran in.
" We've got arm ships.. "

The gems would gasp.
" But, " Pearl began, " Only Diamonds have arm ships..what kind of Diamonds are still after us? "

" That's the thing " Steven replied, " we don't know.. "

Two loud booms came from outside.

" Emerald, please stay in here.. " Steven said quietly.

" But, Dad, last time I did, you DIED! "

" I didn't die..I was just the weird half-human form of poofed. "
" ANYWAYS, stay here. If I get hurt, don't worry. "

Emerald nodded blankly when Steven said that.

" Alright..please don't go outside.. I don't want you to get hurt. "

" Alright, Dad. "

Steven nodded and walked out with the Crystal Gems.

Emerald waited for then to be on the beach before going outside to watch. Just watch right? What could be the problem with watching?

The two ships would open up. A strange fog came from the entrances of them.

" Grey, you said you were gonna check that out.. " one of the tall ladies whispered.

" Lav, not right now we're supposed to be intimidating. "

Grey would silently clear her throat " You there. "

The gems stood there and looked at them awkwardly.

" YOU THERE! " Grey would raise her voice to surprise the gems.

" ..Us? " Amethyst would ask.

" YES YOU. "

" You are harbouring a dangerous gem. Give her to us or suffer the consequences "

" There's a lot of gems here.. " Steven replied.

" The GREEN gem. WHERE IS SHE?! "

" Uuuuhhhh...which green gem? " Pearl questioned.

" Stop- " " DON'T BE SO FOOLISH, SERVANT! TELL US WHERE EMERALD IS OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS! " Lavender's voice boomed louder than Grey's.

" HEY! SHE ISN'T ANYONES SERVANT SO BACK OFF! " Amethyst screeched back, defending all Pearl worked for.

Emerald was on the edge of her seat - or well stair - eating some cake. When Lavender yelled, she dropped her fork which clattered loudly.

Lavender's angry look shot up at Emerald.

" Oh frick. "

" Grey, handle these..rebels. I'll get Emerald. "

Grey nodded as her hands began to glow.

" EMERALD, SHIELD! "

Steven would throw her a shield.

" I TOLD YOU TO STAY INSIDE! "

" BUT YOU GUYS CLEARLY NEED ME!! "

" EMERALD YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW! "

" NO! "
" Why do you get to fight? Why does Mom get to fight? BUT WHY NOT ME?! I'M A GEM! I'M YOUR DAUGHTER! "

" I..I'M A CRYSTAL GEM TOO! "
