Chapter 3 - Party, Anyone?

Start from the beginning

I sighed, looking at my reflection in the window directly next to my bed. My hair was messed and my eyes were lost in the dark abyss of my unusually sunken eyes. Another thing, I haven't been eating well this past week either. I just didn't want to; food sounded completely repulsive whenever somebody brought it up. I wondered vaguely why I've been acting like this, so shut in and alive at the same time, and what's caused it.

I figure it's something that Chance's caused, something he must have done that night. I've no idea what, but I'm certain these ailments aren't normal. As I turn over again, further losing myself in the warped sheets, I feel a viberation coming from my school bag. Yes, I could feel it, even when it's across the room. I get up drowsily and pick through my bag, looking for the bright green object that is my phone. I open up my inbox, and realized Myles has been texting me for over an hour.

"Hey were r you? Desu's throwing a mad prty :)"

"No really were are you?"

"Hellooo? i no your sistr is a bitch but she didn't take ur phone did she?"

"I'm not feelin so good, waiting for you to show up.."

I felt a little guilty, not responding like that. I quickly reply to his last message. "I'll be there in a few!"

I grab my comfy Tripp jacket from my swivel chair and take off, wearing  some super short short with white netted  stockings and some huge vans shoes, probably belonged to an old boyfriend or something of the sort. I jump out my window without a second thought. Perhaps Desu's party would "cure" me of this stupid deadness I've been feeling.

Myles's PoV

As I was about to announce I was going to vomit, I heard a my ringtone come from nowhere, which was Ellie Goulding singing the Lights Bassnectar Remix. I groped my pockets and quickly pulled out my phone.

"Evie replied!" I squealed overenthusiastically. "She says she's on her way here." He said, looking happy.

"Yay! Finally, some life to the party!" Desu said, doing a little dance. Terry stood there looking confused.

"Who's Evie?" He asked quietly, thinking that it was Myles' girlfriend or something.

"Oh, she's my best friend, her real name's Evelyn." I responded, looking back at Terry, who sighed in relief. "She's just...I don't know, really cool." While I was talking, Desu went to get me some more water from the sink. Suddenly, a shriek jumped out of her throat. "Shit!" She howled, spilling the water all over herself. "Eve, what are you doing?" She asked the girl in the window above the sink through the glass. Evelyn mouthed "Help me" to Desu and mimed pulling the window up, which Desu complied to doing.

"Evie!" I squealed, running at her as she finally entered the kitchen, wearing only a Tripp jacket and white netted stockings. Plus super, super short shorts. I gave her a big hug and then stepped back, making a queesy (sp?) face.

"Watch out, he's gonna blow!" Desu howled, pushing everyone back.

"No, Des, not yet. But I thought I might." I smiled at all of them somewhat sickly, including Terry. I still felt that buzz of Voddka from earlier, and found myself not only very happy, but also very attracted to Terry. "Want to come with me outside to get some fresh air?" I asked him, almost flirtatiously.

Terry brightened up immediately. "Sure!" He said, and followed me to the dining room doors. "Evie! Use these next time!" I called to her teasingly.

Evelyn's PoV

"I will!" I laughed at Myles as he exited the building. "So, what's the dirt on them?" I turned and asked Desu.

"Well, Terry's had this crush on him pretty much all year, and Myles only JUST noticed. Sad, isn't it? But it's good they're finally clicking." Desu told me, a hand on her hip and a content look on her face.

"Ah, I see... So where's the alcohol?"

"You dirty addict! It's over here, I'll show you..." She pulled a 40 out of the pantry and gave it to me, which I immediately started drinking. "Thanks!" I told her, filling a large cup with the strong substance. I went into the living room where everyone was partying it out, and observed the faces. "How much stuff did you spike them all with?"

"A bottle of vodka per batch of punch. I have a feeling it's working." She said, nodding to couple of people trying to walk on their hands and failing horribly.

"Oh my god, Des! How could you!" I suddenly pleaded of her.

"What? Spike the drinks? I didn't think you'd mind--"

"No! I meant how could you invite Chance? Good god!" I was flat out bewildered. I didn't want to see him, and knowing his personality he would seek me out immediately. Which he did, making his way over to me through the crowd. I clung to Desu, as if she would protect me, but she just shoved me off and told me to stop freaking out.

"Hi." He said simply, observing my scanty outfit. I clung to my beloved Tripp jacket now, avoiding his gaze.

"Hello." I responded, then took a swallow of my special drink.

"I didn't know you were here."

"Yeah, I just showed up. If you had been in the kitchen you would have seen me climbing through the window."

"Fascinating..."

"How come you're here?"

"Desuna invited me. She's really not bad." He said, and I noticed that Desu had disappeared into the crowd.

"Are you actually drinking?" He suddenly asked me incredulously.

"Of course. I'm almost an alcoholic. Fascinating, isn't it?" I said, turning his words against him.

"But...That's not good for your senses...Ah, nevermind."

"Have you had any of the punch? It's really good."

"Yes, and I noticed it was spiked."

"Exactly." And then I gulped the rest of my drink down. I was feeling more than a little drunk right now, which was pretty nice. Chance just looked at me incredulously, but I didn't care too much. I went into the kitchen again and got myself another cupful.

And that's about all I remember.
