"Myles, you really need to get that cold checked out." Desuna Yari told the dark-haired teen in front of her that was coughing fitfully into the crook of his elbow. They were at a party she herself had planned, with hardly any help, save for Karen peering over her shoulder all day. "You've had it for-ever."

Myles looked at her critically. "Desu, you know  I only get this sick when I drink alcohol." Though his tone sounded reprimanding, he was smiling. "Has anybody noticed all the vodka in here?" He held up is plastic cup of spiked punch with a chuckle.

"Why, I'm offended, Myles! To think, alcohol in the drinks! That's horrible!" She moaned sarcastically. Then she smiled brightly. "No, I don't think anyone's noticed, thank god."

Myles just shook his head in reply, holding in a few laughs.

"So, hows the party? Fun? Boring? What?"

"It's actually pretty great, but I can't find Evie." Myles looked around as if she would pop up out of nowhere.

"She couldn't come. You know how her sister is. 'In bed by 8, asleep by 9, homework done by morning.'" Desuna said in a pretty good imitation of Angela. They both shared a laugh.

"Yeah...As if Evie ever listens to her." Myles said meaningfully.

"I'd be surprized if she listened to anyone, Myles." Desu Giggled, reaching over to the snack table to ladle herself a cup of her concoction.

"Yeah, but I guess that's what I--Hey, watch where you're going!" Myles hissed as some guy from school knocked into him, nearly making Myles drop his glass. The guy looked up at him with a strange glint in his eyes.

"Oh, sorry." The guy said in such a way it almost sounded sarcastic, except from the guy's eyes and the way he talked. Myles just rolled his eyes and grunted a 'Whatever' at him. Desu was looking at them both with a wierd look on her face, too.

"Uh, sorry, Myles, but I gotta go...The people over there are looking kind of down..." Desu murmured, dashing away, hiding her smile behind a thick lock of hair. Myles glared at her back as she left him standing there with that wierd guy. He didn't believe Desu for a second, though it was true she was sort of obsessed with being some sort of great host. But he didn't know why she wanted to get away so badly.

"Myles, eh? How come we've never met?" The guy asked suddenly, sounding somewhat jittery. "By the way, my name's Terry..."

"Yeah, whatever." Myles grunted, rolling his eyes. "We probably haven't met because we don't have classes together or something."

Terry seemed oblivious to the annoyed look on Myles' face. In fact, he even looked slightly amused.

"Look, do you want something?" Myles asked snappily, tucking some of his bluish-black hair behind an ear. Terry seemed to find this very fascinating.

"Yeah. I wanna know why you don't seem to be having a good time like the rest of the people here." said Terry, smiling. He was bemused by this Myles guy, genuinely interested in him.

"Why should I?" Myles scoffed, sparing a glance to look at this Terry person. He was surprised to see that he wasn't all that moronic looking. He actually seemed more sophisticated then the rest of the people at the party, what with his olive-green eyes and coffee-brown hair, styled in a way that seemed effortless. "And why aren't you off with your friends or something?"
