"Evelyn? Evelyn?!" A rather rude voice said into my dream. What a delightful dream; I was flying! How dare this person to interrupt! With a groan, I rolled over onto my belly, pushing my face into my pillow. "Evelyn Alice Volesky, I DEMAND that you get out of bed and go to school." I promptly ignored the voice.

"EVELYN GET THE HELL UP. It's time for school. Dear." The voice I increasingly disliked pitched into a scream. What a jerk. I opened my eyes.

"Sstttmmffttyyyybbbiiiibbccchhh." I tried to say 'shut up, bitch', but words failed my sleepy mouth. I rubbed my eyes drowsily. The only word I can think of to describe how I feel is 'blehk'.

"Good. Now get out of bed." She commanded. When I didn't move, she tried a different approach. "Oh, nevermind. The bus just left." I knew my older sister was teasing me, but I decided to act like I believed her. I stayed in bed.

"No use getting up, then," I said, turning over and pulling the black covers over my eyes.

That really infuriated her.

"Evie, this is the last time. Get. Out. Of. Bed." She said, punctuating her words with a kick to my blankets. I groaned.

"Nah."

"I am going to be late for work. The least you could do is go to school."

"Nahhh."

"I'm calling dad."

"Nahh."

"Just get out of bed, Evelyn."

"I thought you said that was the last time?"

"Lazy...No good..." Her voice trailed off as I started to fall asleep again, aware of her ranting while I slept.

I woke up several hours later, wondering why I wasn't at school. This morning's events came back to me in a rush. "Oh." I said unconsciously as I got a diet coke out of my fridge. It was disgusting, true, but it was all my sister would buy. Ugh.

I popped the can open and switched on the TV with the remote. I flipped it to Death Note, on Cartoon Network. Cool. I was at the part where Kira was dramatically eating a potato chip, and laughing like a psycho. I giggled in return, insanity only slightly tainting my voice. Me and Kira were alike, you see. We both had an illegal god-like power. He could kill people by writing their name. I could turn into a 'werewolf'(not really a werewolf, as my powers aren't limited to once a month...I prefer the term 'Lycan'.), and had the power of super-strength and compulsion. This was one reason I didn't go to school much. In P.E. I tended to break other people's bones. And, believe it or not, I often felt guilty for my...shall we say, 'wild' spirit.

As I was just downing the rest of my diet coke, in one big gulp, the phone started reinging. How /rude/. I spluttered the disgusting liquid over the couch, and jumped up, eager to silence the irritating noise. I plucked the reciever from the dining table (Who knows how it got there; my sister was probably talking to her friends there, or maybe she left it there just so I'd have to get up to get it...jerk.), and swiftly pressed talk.

"Hallo?" I asked, with a purposely british-ish accent. "'Ow are you to'ay?"

"Calrose High School calling. A student from you home was not accounted for and deemed absent. Please call the school and report as to why, and this incident will soon be excused. Thank you for your time." A computerized voice said, as I scowled at the phone as if it had done me personal harm. "Sheesh, she couldn't call the school and tell 'em I wasn't skipping, could she?" I scoffed, before hanging up. I slouched back to the couch, but didn't really feel all that lazy anymore. Damn. I was just getting started, too. With a groan worthy of some kind of fat italian dude, I lifted my slim self from the couch, streatched like a cat, and dashed to my room.
