None of us slept right after, nor did we exactly have a peaceful dinner. Tenebris was beside herself with joy now that she had more people to talk to that 'weren't me or anyone with an obnoxious face.'

We finished our meals somewhat tensely, Knoxx and E'ria constantly shooting me worried looks. I ignored them, scrapping my original plan and thinking about theirs.

"So how exactly do we plan on sneaking out of school grounds unnoticed?" I finally asked, setting down my finished plate.

Analla picked up a lemon tart and bit into it. "My brother was just made a school sentinel. He could potentially let us through."

E'ria gave her girlfriend a worried look. "But he would be obligated to report us to The Elemental."

"He's my brother, blood always triumphs."

"Not always, Ana."

"Do you doubt me, Ria?" Analla asked a bit sharply.

"No! Not you, it's just that I barely know your brother."

"Yes well, introducing my girlfriend to my family is sadly something I can not really do."

"Ana, you know I didn'tー"

"Can he be trusted?" I interjected.

Analla looked at me firmly, without hesitation. "I trust him with my life. I have ever since I was a child."

"Alright then, where will he be stationed at sunrise?"

"He would be starting his watch, so at the south end of the school near the gate that leads to the town."

"Near or at?"

"At, sorry."

"Alright." I stood up and dusted my pants. "I need to start packing supplies."

"Take the scouting bag," E'ria said. "It has most of the things we need anyways. And pack some more weapons."

"Of course, dear E'ria. You and your weapons always come first," I drawled. She gave me a knowing look.

Knoxx stood up and walked with me towards my personal weapons rack. I scooped up the plain scouting bag on the ground given to all students taking the class and peered inside, handing it to him wordlessly. I proceeded to add more of what we were low on into the bag, adding vials of healing potions and a small book of incantations, and of course more rations to last a month.

E'ria came over and tapped me on the shoulder. "Analla and I will head to our own rooms to pack. Meet back here in half an hour?"

"Sure. We can take a quick nap before the sun comes up. We won't have much time for resting once we leave."

E'ria nodded and left with Analla, making sure the silence ward was still activated before closing the door.

Tenebris stared sadly after they left. "They'll be back don't worry," I snapped. She turned to look at me and stuck out a snake-like tongue made of shadows.
