I have a skin that doesn't scar
I guess some would call it a curse
but it makes all your grief invisible

A skin that doesn't scar
A muted cry for help
A canvas you can overpaint

A skin that's ashamed of me
It keeps to itself what I do to it

A skin that doesn't scar
But it still bled when I tore it apart
What a relief and what a betrayal

A skin tougher than me
It doesn't bear the marks I feel

A skin that doesn't scar
A great alibi for my mental health
It hides self-hatred just as well

A skin I want to free
From all the sorrows trapped in me

I have a skin that doesn't scar
I guess some would call it a gift
but it makes all your grief invisible
