Volume 1 Chapter 1: Ruby Rose

So pretty, and she nearly towers over me, and why does she have so many animal characteristics? "R-Ruby Rose. Yours?"

"Y/N L/N. It's nice to meet you Ruby." The two shook hands, Y/N focusing on the girl's dainty appearance.

"It's nice to meet you too Y/N. But first, I think we should focus on these guys first."

"Right."

Another guy came up to the two of them, and Ruby was able to throw him through the window, along with herself. Y/N followed along side her, and as Ruby stood up, she revealed her weapon.

A scythe with a scope, which also means that it has some kind of firearm, most likely a sniper rifle based on the size. Y/N was a bit too focused on her weapon, but she soon remembered the danger, taking out her own weapon.

"Okay... get them." The ringleader ordered towards his minions.

The first guy ran towards Y/N, swinging downwards, she was able to easily parry it and counter attack, slicing at his chest hitting his aura to throw him into a wall, knocking him out. Ruby was able to dodge an attack and kick one of the men in the face, knocking him out, and possibly giving them a concussion.

The fight itself went fine, Ruby using her scythe-gun, and Y/N using her sword, the two made a threatening duo.

"You were worth every cent. Truly you were. Well Red and... Fox, I think we can all say, it's been an eventful evening. And as much as I'd like to stick around, I'm afraid this... is where we part ways." His cane opened and fired some kind of explosive that the two girls narrowly dodged.

When they looked for him, he had disappeared, but then Y/N saw him climbing a ladder.

"Up there!" Ruby nodded then looked to the Shopkeep.

"You okay if we go after him?" The shopkeep nodded. The two girls ran/jumped up the building, trying to intercept the man.

"Hey!" The two girls yelled out, synchronized.

"Persistent..." The man muttered as an air ship rose up.

"End of the line Red and Fox!" He threw a fire crystal towards the girls and shot at it.

 "Look out!" Y/N yelled, grabbing Ruby and pulling her down with her, but they weren't hit by an explosion. Instead, a purple barrier made from a blonde haired woman protected us.

She started shooting at the airship with some kind of magic, semblance, or something. She then used some kind of spell to summon a small storm of ice shards to rain down onto the ship. Another woman, description unclear, shot fire balls towards the tree, making them dodge, and the huntress used the debris as a spear. However it was blocked by the ship, deflecting it. The woman on the ship somehow dispelled the slithering debris around the ship. That gave Ruby the idea to shoot at it, although all her shots were blocked. Suddenly, they were surrounded by explosives, making the huntress throw them out of the way, but the distraction allowed the ship to get away.

"You're a huntress! Can I have your autograph?" Ruby asked excitedly, with stars in her eyes, causing Y/N to laugh a little.

[Later, Y/N's POV]

"I hope you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young ladies." The two of us looked down in shame. "You put yourselves and others in great danger."

"They started it!" Ruby argued, while being correct.

"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... with a pat on the back..." Ruby looked up and smiled, but I knew that the huntress wasn't finished. "And a slap on the wrist!" She hit the table with her weapon, startling Ruby, making her accidently grab onto me.
