Someone Like Shoto [BNHA tododeku]

"Hello, I'm midoriya! You are..?"

The boy with the peppermint hair looked up from his phone. "Shoto Todoroki. Pleasure to meet you, Midoriya."

As the boys shook hands, Midoriya's phone started to ring. "Excuse me for one second," the boy muttered. Izuku looked at the caller ID ; Hisashi Midoriya.

Happy families are almost always alike; compared to unhappy families that are unhappy in their own unhappy ways.

This was true for both the Midoriya and Todoroki families. The Todorokis? Mistreated by their father. A mere science project they were to their father.

The Midoroyas? Face it. Izuku's father was too busy to spend time with his own son. Apparently, having no quirk at all to him is having nothing ever good enough. Even with his freckles, his streaks of black hair, his father still thought Izuku was never going to be successful. He was never there when Izuku needed him most. When the boys at school told him to kill himself, when the only person that liked Izuku was his lonely mother.

Izuku's eyes were like the babies of his mother's.

Izuku remembered the face of his father. This boy was quirkless. He was no Midoriya of his father's.

Clenching the phone in his hands, he declined the call.

"Terribly sorry for the interruption, Todoroki! But I hope to make a year with you a good one!" As he smiled to Todoroki, Izuku shook hands with the boy and walked off.

Midoriya thought for a second.

Peppermint boy was pretty cute.

And then he ran into someone.

Midoriya lost his balance and fell over. He tried to get up as soon as possible, but..

"MOVE IT, NERD."

Izuku's eyes widened. He knew whose voice that was from miles away.

"Watch where you're going for once!" A tall Bakugo Katsuki exclaimed as he kicked Izuku to the ground.

Why was Kacchan always so angry with him?

As Izuku's surroundings slowly faded into darkness, the sound of heavy footsteps toward him grew louder.. And louder..

As the green-haired boy opened his eyes, the lights of the infirmary shone into his eyes.

"Young Midoriya! You're awake!" All Might spoke.

"What..what happened?"

"A classmate of yours heard a thud and found you unconscious. Nothing too serious, just bumped your head on the ground."

"Who...who found me?"

"I believe it was Shoto Todoroki."

peppermint boy.

"Ah, todoroki, okay. I'll be sure to thank him later. Thank you All Might for coming to visit me."

"Anything I can do for my successor is my honour. I'll leave you to rest for a while. Get well soon, Young Midoriya!"  All might ruffled Izukus hair slightly before leaving Izuku in privacy.

And with that, a 'ping!' came from Izuku's phone, placed on the bedside counter beside him.

What's the worst that could happen? It might just be Iida or Ochako.

Izuku smiled. Shoto Todoroki--he knew he was a Todoroki of Endeavour's family, but if Todoroki-kun didn't want to share that information, it wasn't relevant. A warm energy grew inside Izuku.

Was this the feeling of having friends?

"yeah! I'll see you then :)"

A smile spread across Shoto's face as he clicked the off button to his phone.

Midoriya was such a nice guy. Even coming up to introduce himself so kindly? Amazing. Hardly anyone talked to Shoto like that. Usually, Shoto would be the conversation starter.

Shoto still didn't want to fully open up to Midoriya like a friend yet, though. What if Midoriya thought he was wierd? Or annoying? Shoto just wanted to wait until he was sure Midoriya was his friend.

But that was nothing to have to worry about massively. Tomorrow, was the second official day of Shoto's hero training at UA. He had to make the most of it, and show the potential he had to his other classmates.
