Politely Declined

Nova POV

" Wrote you a letter" I sanged as I scanned the crowd of perverted men and some women. As long as they keep their distance, then it's all good. I'm just ready to go home to my baby girl. I'm tired of singing at this bar, but hey it pays good so I can provide for my baby.

"Would you remember me? Would you remember the way that I was?"

I'm only 22 in a bar doing this. I didn't have a choice though. When I was 19, I was raped by a man walking to get home. I couldn't move, scream for help, nothing. I was in that ally for 2 days before the police found me.

I was traumatized. I had to go to therapy for months. Then that's when I was sick for a few days. Come to figure out, I was pregnant by a man I didn't knew. My father and mother didn't like that I was pregnant, so when they told me to pack my shit and go, I was broken.

But now, I'm living the best I can not only for me, but for my child. When she was born, I was the happiest person in the world. I only made it through with the help of my older brother Kevin. Him and his wife Dearra was there. And for that I will always be thankful.

"Whoooo" The crowd applauded for me when I finished the song.
I smiled at the crowd and walked off the stage with my head held high. Walking over to the bar, there was a tall figure standing in the corner just looking at me. I did my best not to be creeped out and flashed him a pearly smile and waved.

"You did good up there chicka" the bartender aka my best friend Ana said.

"Well I try my best" I responded.

"I mean it mami. You have a real gift there. You need to do something with it" she said whole heartedly. "And Vic said to pay you double for your overtime" she said and place 12 grand in my hand.

"Well tell him I said thank you, and thank you for the compliment" I said winking at her

"Goodnight mami"

"Night night"

Exiting the building with my coat, I begin walking to my 3 bedroom apartment. It was a bit chilly so I pulled the coat a little tighter. Walking pass an ally, I seen a homeless women with a baby. She looked so helpless. I walked up to her, and gave her my long fur coat along with 2 grand.

"Here, go find a hotel and food for you and your child" I said to her helping her up.
"Thank you so much!" She said, her voice cracking a little.

"It's ok. Go ahead to a room" I said walking to my direction.

I smiled to myself, happy that I helped her. Even though I was chilly in this revealing outfit, I'm glad I helped someone in need.

"Hello" a voice said smoothly.
Being the scary cat that I am, I jumped with a small scream leaving my thick lips.

"Oh goodness! Hello you scared me" I said holding my purse closer to me.

"What's a beauty like you doing out here this chilly night" he said with a smirk. Being that it was dark I couldn't see his face all the way, but I saw that he was tall and had on a trench coat and a hat.

"Oh, I'm just going home to my daughter. So umm, nice speaking to you mister." I said awkwardly walking and waving goodbye.

"Hey, let me walk with you" he said matching my pace. I was kinda getting nervous so I just stayed silent.

"What's your name" he asked

"Nova," I said softly " but umm I think you should go I'm about near my home"I said flashing a smile to show I meant no harm.

"Well before I go, would you like a rose" he purred. He then went in to his trench coat pocket and pulled out two roses. One blue and one red. "Pick one" he said to me.

I smiled at him and shook my head no.
"No thank you, I prefer white roses but thanks for the offer" I then walked up the stairs to the building. Looking back one more time I saw him with a frown but I just waved. Walking into my building, I was greeted with small hands hugging my legs. Looking down, there was my beautiful babygirl.

"Hey mommy's girl!" I laughed as I picked her up and smothered her in kisses. "What are you still doing up, it's four in the morning" I said looking at my watch.
"She woke up at two and was up since then saying she wanted to see you" Donana her babysitting said.

"Oh ok. I hope she wasn't a problem for you" I said looking down at the giggling little girl

"Oh no she was very playful that's all" she said poking her little tummy. "But I should really get home" she said

"Ok well goodnight darling" I said giving her 150 dollars for her babysitting.
"Oh Nova I think you gave me too much-"
"No the extra is for Saturday night darling" I said pushing my hair back out of my face so she can see my green eyes.

"Ok night Nova, night Daisy"
All daisy did was wave and smiled laying her head on my chest.

I closed the door and walked down the hallway to my room, knowing Daisy wants to sleep with me. I laid her in the bed and pick out my regular T-shirt and boxers to sleep in. Going into the bathroom I did my Hygiene routine and put my hair in a messy bun.

Making my way back to the bed, I got in and snuggled next to my little daisy. She then snuggled into my neck while I was pecking her head mumbling over and over ' I love you'. She then sat up and peck my cheek whispering ' I love you too'. With that, we both closed of eyes and went to dreamland.

But in the back of my mind I felt like someone was watching us...
