Teachers don't always appreciate the fact that they hold influence over young impressionable minds. They may very well make or break their students' careers, mold their way of thinking, and sometimes even change their lives. That's why teaching is considered to be the noblest profession.
Once a teacher had inspired me to be more than who I was and to be a better person. Unfortunately, it was also a teacher who demotivated me. Where once I aspired to be a teacher, now I despise the very thought. That's the saddest thing in the world when your behavior or words turn a trusting student into a pessimist.
Remember that each student is an individual. You might not know how they will react to your words. Be mindful and think twice before you speak because even when you think most of them aren't listening, a few might just take your words to heart.
