How To Be A Person;
one: cowardice is allowed. Being strong won't always come easy, sometimes being a coward is all we can do.
two: loneliness. The moment you realise you are truly alone will be the worst moment of your life. It will feel like everything in your life collapsed. Trust that things will get better. Trust and optimism are powerful, the moment you realise that is the moment things will start to build themselves back up.
three: remember that moment i talked about? It will most likely come after your first heartbreak. You won't know that it's coming, but trust that it will happen. If you were truly in love, you won't expect it, it will be the biggest surprise and at first you won't know how to deal with it, someone out there will come to you and help you. You will be in denial but they won't leave, i promise.
four: expect the unexpected, your parents will sugar coat everything they can. Figure out the truth, when you live through it, it will be easier to deal with it.
five: regret will come easy, trust it will. It's so easy to regret things. Try not to, try to be happy with life how it is, don't focus on the 'what if' because if you do, you'll miss everything else.
six: 'fake it til you make it' is the truest saying in the world. Everyone is faking something. Be prepared because when your 'friend' isn't who you thought they we're, your heart will break. Stay stealthy and proceed with caution, they will manipulate you without even trying. They will laugh and say they love you, and turn and start saying how much they hate you. That's just life.
seven: you will start to lose yourself as time goes on. You will change without even trying. Crises will form and you won't know what to do. Don't try to hide the pain, you might become the fake one.
eight: surviving and living are very different, so do what makes you happy. Dye your hair, drink that drink, sleep with him or her, it's your life. No one has a right to say that you can't do something, you know you better than anyone, if you believe it's right then do it. Be who you want, not who your parents failed to be.
nine: there will come a time when somebody will ask you something, you will tell the truth, they won't believe you. Don't tell them what they want to hear, if you stick with the truth eventually somebody will start to believe you. Don't compromise yourself just to get it over with.
ten: remember that 'snitches get stitches' is true, but snitches also stay out of jail. You are more important than your 'friends' because if you tell the truth, you won't be the one in jail. Remember that those 'friends' would turn you in, in a heartbeat. So beat them to it.
eleven: My final tip on how to be a person, don't listen to anything I said. I can't tell you to listen to me, I don't know you. I don't know what's best for you. Take my advice if you believe it fits you, not because i told you to take it. I'm not you, i don't know what youve gone through, I don't know how your life is, I don't know a single thing about you. Don't take my advice, make up your own set of rules that follow your own set of principles, but just keep this in mind. I went through all of that so that hopefully you wouldn't.
