I got up and went to take a shower before I called the reception for breakfast, I'd woken up hungry that particular morning. By the time breakfast came, Roy was up as well. He just brushed his teeth and joined me. After breakfast, we had to go and walk around the city with Amret and Edward since they were leaving the following day. Disha chose to stay back at the house to learn some film things from Faniat's friend who was a director.
The following day was the introduction day before the newlyweds went on their honeymoon for two weeks. There weren't many activities on that day except for the unnecessary shopping and visiting the cinema to watch Malang. I wanted some Disha Patani to cover up all the Disha Agarwal I had in my mind. We also went to the introduction party and tried to prevent the Tamasha topic as much as we could until it was unavoidable anymore, and Roy had to tell them she was in London for further treatment with her family. Her brother had come for her when things got out of hand. We also informed them that we would be going back.
The following day, we had everything packed and Roy persuaded Naina to escort us to the airport so she would take the car back to the rental. He didn't want the rental place to send us their driver, he had been having trust issues since the fight with Tamasha. I couldn't blame him though, I would have been on high alert all the time.
Naina took us to the path that passed right at Mannat and stopped the car.
"Are you going to leave without saying goodbye?" She asked me as a joke but I got out of the car and went to the backside of the mansion to say bye.
I found Aryan speaking to somebody on his phone and I waved. He waved back when he saw me. I was about to go but then Abram stepped forward and started to smile and wave at me.
"You came."
"I did! I couldn't leave without saying bye."
"I am leaving also. Papa is sending me to Dubai with Aryan Bhai. Will you come and see me there?"
"I will. We will meet after this time and talk a lot."
"Okay, bye."
"Bye Abram. Say hi to your family."
He waved goodbye and went further inside where I couldn't see him. I turned to leave and found Roy smirking at me.
"What?"
"Nothing. Just we are getting late." He replied with a grin on his face.
We then drove directly to the airport to have our flight back. We said goodbye to Naina and promised her to visit again next time. We then boarded and before we knew it, we were in Uttar. Roy insisted that we passed at the restaurant first to see how things were going.
Jaan was so happy to see us back and went on to tell us how the sales had increased in the last four days and even suggested an expansion of the restaurant because apparently, there was a hotel which was opened a week before. It was good news and Roy was pleased with how Jaan handled the place while he was gone. He went on to sign some paycheck and other papers before we went back home.
¶
Days flew by and it was just a month away from our Nationals. I was against the idea of calling them finals. There were going to be tests and exams. Always. I didn't want one of them to fool me that it was over because it wasn't.
We didn't always have prom in Indian schools but it changed for us because we had done so well in our past exams that the school committee allowed it. Although we were having it late, it was still happening, that meant better than nothing.
The school even announced that we would be having an early graduation party which will be on the same day as the prom. It was something I wasn't planning on passing.
