ALANNAH'S POV

A: 'I feel weird opening this..'

M: 'Why?'

T: 'Because y/n isn't here...We applied together and we said we were going to open the letters together'

M: 'Let's just wait until the boys arrive, ok?'

They look over at y/n's letter that was sitting on y/n's kitchen bench until the boys suddenly come loudly through the door, laughing and joking about something with frozen drinks in their hands for everyone.

T: 'Why are you guys so happy...'

R: 'Well first, the police came over to Elliot's house and...'

He reaches into his blue backpack and throws the phone, still in the bag, onto the bench, making a big clunk as it landed

A: 'They didn't find it?'

E: 'Nope. Grayson hid it.'

M: 'OK and...what's the other news?'

G: 'We figured out how to raise awareness for y/n'

A: 'Didn't Ruel already post about it on Instagram? So did all of us'

R: 'True but I'm going to have a fundraising concert. All the money from the tickets will go to supporting the local police department and the case'

E: 'And people can donate online during the concert'

T: 'I don't know guys...Y/n wouldn't want you using your fame for her. You know she always hated that'

R: 'I honestly don't care right now. She's out there somewhere, maybe this could bring her home'

The girls and I shrug as the boys sip at their slushies as if their plan was going to go perfectly.

E: 'What have you got there...' Elliot speaks up as he notices us all holding envelopes

T: 'It's our response from the dance company we applied for...'

R: 'What dance company?' Ruel furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he sipped on his slushie and the girls share glances, confused

M: 'Y/n didn't tell you?'

R: 'Um no... When was this?'

M: 'The concert where she was acting all weird...Her dance was her audition for the company. That's why she was so stressed..'

R: 'Why didn't she tell me...' he looked at the ground before looking back up at me

A: 'Who's going to open her letter?'

G: 'Should we even open it...' he questioned nervously, he did make a point.

R: 'I'll open it'

We all look at Ruel as he looks at the letter. If anyone was going to open her letter, it was going to be Ruel. Tilly reached over the kitchen bench and handed the envelope to Ruel

M: OK

T: 3

A: 2

R: 1

We all ripped open the letters and my heart dropped as I read the paragraph...Not even the first paragraph, just the first sentence

A: 'I didn't get in'
