Chapter 01

A dash of light orange has been painted on the skyline highlighting a beginning rather than a conclusion to the bustling life of New York city.

Chiara Powell, a tall slender girl in a blue denim and a brown sweater entered the apartment with a pile of books on one hand and a star buck coffee on the other. She tossed her books and her bag on her dinning table and settle downed on her window couch.

She slowly tied her midnight black curly hair into a bun while keeping her eyes on the coffee that was placed on her windowsill.

Her meaty brown eyes then wondered exploring the scenery in front of her. Gradually the surrounding has begun to merge into the darkness of the night leaving a mesmerising scenery of New York lights in front of her.

"mhmmm" she let a small happy sigh at the sight.

"This is why I chose thee, my lovely apartment!" she yelled in utmost pleasure and started slowly sipping her coffee.

"Drrrrrrr...... drrrrrrr......" suddenly her phone started to vibrate in her pocket breaking the serene ambience of her apartment.

Her brown little eyes started to sparkle at the caller ID; Isa Powell <3 <3

"Hey Isa! Finally, you remembered me!!" she cried while holding the phone in front of her face.

"My Chichi! What the Hell? Why are you in dark??" shouted the girl on the phone screen who had a strong resemblance to our lady. She got the same set of brown eyes which wondered with immense curiosity and tucked her black wavy hair with red highlights behind her ear waiting eagerly for an answer.

"Hahahaa... I was just enjoying my amazing view!" she quickly turned her phone camera around to let her sister see.

"Oh wow!" uttered Isa.

"Wait, I'll turn on the light." said Chiara while walking towards the wall which had all the switches.

"Okay... Now all good huh Isa?" then she asked while settling back on her window couch.

"Oh, finally I can see my little sisters very annoying little face!" Isa playfully smirked.

"Shut up!!" said Chiara irritably.

"By the way, what made you remember me? Suddenly you got bored with your little boyfriend and Kiwi life huh?" Chiara asked.

"What are you saying? I didn't forget you!! I called yesterday. Ah no day before yesterday! Or was it day before that?" Isa scratched her head.

"See!! Told you!" cried Chiara.

"Huh! Anyway, I have been a tad bit busy my love. And Erik is saying Hi to you too." She said with a wink.

Isa, Chiara's elder sister had been living in New Zealand with her boyfriend Erik for almost one year now. She is an emerging painter in California and moved to New Zealand for her one of her art projects. Chiara misses her sister a lot as both their busy lifestyles leaves a very little time for them to catch up even over the phone.

"Happy 21st birthday My dear sister!!!" Isa shouted again.

"Hahahaaaa...... Thank you thank you in advance my annoying sister and Erik you too!" Chiara laughed.

"Love you dude and miss you terribly today!!!" Isa uttered.
