It has been a devastating twelve months for all living creatures. The wrath of Thanos left the entire universe in shock. Half of the universe was dead, and there was nothing that nobody could do about it now. After the battle in Wakanda and Thor slicing Thanos' head off just a few short months later resulted in a horrible reality to unfold.

The Earth was one of many planets that was trying to regain from the tragic events that had happened. If anything Earth was the main battleground during Thanos' wrath. Billions of lives were lost due to his idea of "adding correction to the universe". The Snap made nothing better than what it was beforehand. Countries and governments are in ruins, people were mourning, and the human society wasn't the same anymore. People didn't know what to do with themselves..and what they have lost.

The Avengers, the Earth's mightiest heroes, was in complete shambles and so was S.H.I.E.L.D; half of them dead and the heroes that were left felt completely hopeless. The headquarters in upstate New York didn't feel the same way anymore. Nothing was the same anymore. There wasn't a will or motive to do anything. Their job was to protect the Earth and keep their society from harm's way whether it from other humans or any outside forces trying to invade their freedom. But they had ultimately failed in the end.

It was tragic, all of it was. Thanos was dead and the infinity stones were reduced to atoms. There was nothing nobody could do besides move on.

But that was the biggest lie anyone could ever say these days.

"Nat, what are you watching?" Steve walked into the room where holographic projections surrounded Natasha as she sat down in her chair, foot up against the table as she observed the chaos she has been studying a little over a week now. There were feminine screams, shouts of protesters, dead bodies, and sounds of news anchors played out loud. His eyes flickered to them all, but it became too overwhelming to focus on the chaos. It reminded of him when everything first went to shit after The Snap.

"There is a cult in the state." She weakly replied, her thumb rubbing against her bottom lip. "They've been killing women for ten days straight. Roughly fifty victims alone. Bodies left in the streets of the city. Nude and slaughtered."

"And where are the Avengers now? We need them the most to make sure peace is still kept. But I guess they are still trying to recover from their biggest failure." The blonde-haired woman said on live television in the corner as she shrugged her shoulders, shuffling the few papers between her fingers before it switched to another anchor.

Failure.

That hurt.

Nat sneered, eyebrows coming to an angry frown. "I would stick a knife down her--,"

"I would like to see her try to save the world," Steve immediately cut in before she said anything out of hand, although he didn't blame her. "It's TV talk, Nat. Ignore it."
