CHAPTER 7: Adventure Date

[Nicholas POV]

"I have a date today, Miss Landre. Don't even bother to call me unless it's a matter of life and death situation." He stood up eagerly as he finished reviewing the documents on his table.

She's eyeing him suspiciously with a simple nod. He has nosy secretary. Madalas ito nakikipagchismis sa mga katrabaho in vacant hours. So far, medyo okay naman ang performance nito sa trabaho.

"Is that clear, Miss Landre?" Ulit niyang tanong nang hindi ito sumagot.

"Y-yes sir." She stammered. She shook his head when he caught her looking at him.

He knows na naiintriga ito dahil hindi naman siya lumalabas ng ganitong oras para lang makikipagdate. But he has to work it out. Kailangan niyang paamuhin si Chasity na pumayag sa gusto niyang mangyari.

She hurriedly walked out from his office. Every employee na madadaanan niya sa hallway ay tumitigil sa pakikipag-usap sa katrabaho para batiin siya. He just only nodded to all of them. Everyone seems scared of him because he did not mingle with his employees. He is a strict and straight forward boss. No one dares to fight or argue with him or else they will lose their lifetime benefits and their well-compensated job.

The only noise he heard was from his expensive shoes muffled on the floor until he reached the elevator. They're holding their breath when he was there, they also look tensed. Napatingin ako siya sa mamahaling sout na relo. It's ten in the morning. He has a surprise visit with his future in-laws today.

Hindi niya maiwasang mairita every time he remembers the last conversation with Chasity, it was the night of their engagement. She's a money matter woman. Mabuti na ding nalaman niya ang totoong intension nito na pakasalan siya. She was just being practical. At least alam na niya ang totoong ugali nito bago pa man sila ikasal. He was disappointed of course. Upon their conversation, despite the doubt about his expectations of her, he'd hope that she was different. That she is not the woman who only wants his money. But it turned out na mas malala pa ito sa inaasahan niya. Wala itong pinagkaiba sa mga babaeng kinakama niya.

Looks can be deceiving ika nga. When he discovered that he is the woman he was looking for, nabuhay ang pag-asa niya na, at last, he could have the woman he desired to marry or to settle down because she is different. This woman is not attracted on him, at least when he caught her staring at him, napansin niyang may kakaiba itong napansin sa kanya. Of course, he's handsome but a woman like her is not fond of the handsome looks alone. Yon pala, habol nito ang pera niya, ang makukuha nito sa kanya when they tied a knot.

Sayang.

Napakalaki niyang sayang. He thought she's a wife material. Pero wala din itong pinagkaiba sa mga babaeng nakakasalamuha niya. He sighed. Kahit attracted siya sa ganda at tindig nito, he will not let himself be drown to it. Kaya niyang itago ang sariling nararamdaman and besides siguro kapag nakuha na niya ang kagustuhan niyang maangkin ang dalaga, mawawala naman agad ito, just like he felt desires with the other women kapag naikama niya ang mga ito. Maybe it's the same kahit ilang araw na niyang iniisip ang dalaga. And it annoyed him sa tuwing biglang pumapasok ito sa isipan niya ng kahit anong oras.

Is this normal?

Siguro it's his first time to feel attraction to the woman who does not share same attraction with him. Kauna-unahang na-attract siya sa babaeng walang atraskyon o interest sa kanya maliban sa pera. Chasity is obviously doesn't attracted at him. Kaya siguro madalas niyang naiisip ang dalaga dahil hindi niya agad nakuha ang gusto niya. Maybe this feelings or attraction will pass.
