Human beings were born to have aspirations.
To surpass their limits.
These ideals are undoubtedly flawed but it's what we've been taught all our life.
To become better.
If we become better, we'll advance in life.
We'll gain knowledge only capable people can possess.
We'll move up the chain of command and lead our own enterprises.
But what happens to those who can't advance?
They are left behind in the dust, longing for a chance to shine.
They'll never become better.
They were never even close.
Those who don't voice their opinions will never succeed in life.
Those who put in the effort are always bound for failure.
The people that succeed were born for it.
Attempting to make your life better will only bring more despair.
While these ideals are rather dark, they are true for a particular fellow who's reality has been broken by the society he tried to call home.
