Chapter 13

"Where's Zaiden and Lucas?"

"After not finding you two for an hour his highnesses went out to look for you two and had the whole guard spread out through town to search for you two." The guard spoke.

"When did they leave?" Cynthia asked.

"30 minutes ago." The guard spoke.

Cynthia and I looked at each other.

"Prepare us a horse. Inform the guards to return back quickly. We will go retrieve them."

"Understood my lady." The guard left quickly.

The horses were brought to us and we got on and headed out.

We headed through the town and decided to spilt up.

Cynthia headed right and I went left.

After looking around town we met up at the gate.

Right outside the town there was a forest.

We decided to head out and look through the forest.

Since the sun was setting it was quite dangerous outside. But Cynthia and I had weapons attached onto ourselves.

We spilt and looked through the forest.

"Zaiden! Lucas!"

"Eve!" I heard Zaiden shout.

I followed the sound and saw him at distance.

"Zaiden!"

He turned around and looked at me.

I got off my horse and he got off as well and ran towards me.

He hugged me and I was surprised but I placed my hand on his back.

"Where were you?" He asked.

"I apologize. Cynthia and I fallen asleep in the greenhouse."

"The greenhouse." Zaiden looked at me.

"We found a spot within the fields."

"I see. As long as you are fine then." He said.

"Let's head back."

We called our horses over and just before they arrived arrows were shot at us.

We dodged them. I could sense about 10 hidden assassins.

I grabbed some silver needles I hidden inside a pouch I carried and shot it towards the assassins.

Seven of them fell down but three of them dodged it.

I grabbed the daggers that were hidden on my shoes and threw one of them to Zaiden.

"Catch."

He caught the dagger and looked at me.

I could sense more footsteps approaching.

"Let's go."

We called our horses and got on it and quickly left.

We arrived to the gates where we met up with Lucas and Cynthia.

"Eve. Are you alright?" Cynthia asked.

"I'm fine. But it seems like they decided to make their moves today. We'll hold them back. You two go back and check on the family."

"Alright. Be careful." Cynthia said.

I nodded.

They both left and the guards have also come out and stood guard.

"Someone get us a sword."
