Fra stared at his best friend with his mouth wide open completely failing to notice the mess he just made by letting go of the laundry basket, all the neatly folded clothes were now sprawled on the ground.

"You can't be serious." He simply said as Odette squatted down to help fold the clothes again.

He stood in place looking between the girl and the clothes as if deciding what was more important. Deciding on the former he leaned down to stop Odette, holding her hands to pull her back to her feet. He needed to look straight to her eyes.

He only needed a second.

"Oh my God!" He let go of her hands as if they electrocuted him and drew a step back. "You are serious."

"Dermot Frasier, don't use the Lord's name in vain." Mrs. Frasier told him off stepping into the laundry room.

"Believe me, mom, I don't think it is in vain." He said without taking his eyes off Odette, her face became even more red with embarrassment.

His mother completely ignored him upon seeing the fresh laundry lying on the floor. "Dermot! I told you to fold and put those clothes in place two hours ago! You know that's your chore. Do I have to do everything in this house?"

"But, seriously, mom, this," he pointed between Odette and him, "is important." Mrs. Frasier didn't dignify his comment with a reply just a gelid look that had him rushing to pick up the clothes on the floor and putting them back in the laundry basket. "Okay, okay. I'll just fold it in my room."

"You better have it done when I call you for dinner!" She called after him when he rushed out of the laundry room, holding the laundry basket in one hand and pulling Odette along with the other.

When they were both inside his room, he slowly closed the door, flinching when it closed with a light tud. It would go by most people, but that was enough for Mrs. Frasier.

"The door!"

"Arg!" Fra opened it again, just a crack. "I love my mom to the moon and back, but I swear she drives me crazy sometimes."

He turned to find Odette already folding one of his sister's shirts in his bed. He quickly made his way to her and sat in front of her making sure his folded leg was on top of the shirt she was working on. Odette lifted her gaze to him, a storm was forming in her grey eyes.

She was annoyed. Good.

Fra joined his hands on his lap and took a deep breath. "Ok, tell me everything."

She buffed giving up on helping him on his chore. "I already told you everything."

"No, you didn't! 'I'm fake dating Mr please-have-my-babies-hottie-quarterback.'" He mimicked her. "You can't just throw that bomb at me."

She rolled her eyes. "I also told you why we are doing this."

"Don't throw that BS at me! Are you really telling me that you are 'dating' the guy you had a crush since literally forever just so you can win the Class President election?"

"I have gotten over my crush on him and you know it."

"O, my darling. Everyone has a crush on Sebastian McCoy. I want to have his babies. And I can't even have babies!" She tried to keep her annoyed face but couldn't keep the corner of her mouth to lift in the beginning of a smile. "Who would have thought? My best friend has snitched the most desired bachelor in the whole school. I didn't know you had it in you."

Odette slapped his shoulder. "It's not real, Fra. We will just be pretending until we get to our separate goals."

"I know." He was suddenly serious holding her right hand. "I just don't want you to get hurt."
