Sebastian noticed too late the swift movement of the doorknob.

He only had time to gather all the tiny bottles of alcohol in his arms before the door was swung open and a cascade of blond hair greeted him.

"Fuck, Lexi. You scared me." Sebastian breathed out and let the bottles fall back to the ground.

Her perfectly done eyebrows furrowed at him. "Who did you think it was? Mom?" She mocked.

Seb rolled his eyes at her. Yes, he thought it was one of his parents, and yes, that was stupid.

Lexi put her hands on her hips as she looked at the liquor bottles on the ground, her face contorted in disgust. "That's pathetic. You had to go as low as to still father's booze. Don't you have any friends to drink with?"

That's the last thing Sebastian needed right now, his sister being a pain in his ass. "Don't you have a boyfriend to piss off?"

It just seemed that the guy was always around.

"Ha ha." Lexi walked further into the room and threw herself into his bed. "Not tonight. Jt is being a dick again."

"I don't like him." He had told her already.

"He'll come around. Eventually." She brushed it off and sat herself to look down at him. "I'm bored. Let's watch a movie."

He huffed getting up. "I'm not in the mood, Lexi."

"Yeah, I can see you have a lot to do. A total of... zero bottles to finish now. Geez! If you work hard enough, you might be done by the end of the night."

He had heard enough. "What's your problem?"

"What's your problem?" She snapped back getting up from the bed and melting his eyes with the same rage even if she was much shorter than him. "You have been drinking your feelings. Just cry your eyes already and be done with it!"

Seb was thrown away by her outburst and she shook her head buffing like he was just the stupidest person she had ever met.

"C'mon, I'll show you how it's done." She took his arm and started dragging him outside of the room. "We are going to watch a dumb romance and cry like babies."

Sebastian did not have the energy to fight her.

@@@

The initial plan suffered a few changes and they ended up watching a new rom com instead of a real "crying movie" as Lexi put it. She said she could not stand those sad movies but Seb suspected that she planned to watch that movie all along and just did not want to watch it alone. He hated every moment of it. Why he did not get up and leave he could not say. He was glued to the spot.

As the couple in the screen pretend to be dating to make their ex's jealous, he cringed with every cute moment that brought them a step closer to falling for each other. His mind kept going back to his and Paris's relationship.

Stupid! That movie was stupid! He thought while going up the stairs glad it was over and he could call it a night.

He passed by his mother's office where a faint melody played, a tune meant to be only background noise, nothing else. She would be there, writing, always writing. How many books did she say she had left? Two? Three? It does not matter. He did not care.

It was also a stupid romance series. As stupid as that movie.

He got into his room buffing. Pretend to be dating someone?! That was a fucking dumb  idea!

"Fuck." He tripped on one of the liquor bottles and would have ended up with his face on the ground if it wasn't for his window jamb which he held to keep him upright.

The swearing caught the attention of the redheaded neighbor studying a couple feet away. Odette lifted her head from her book and looked out of her window at him with wild eyes.

"Sorry." He mumbled.

Her cheeks turned a deep red but she nodded dismissing him and turned her attention back to her book. However, he stayed glued to the spot staring at her. She noticed her his unmoving figure and directed her gaze to him.

He realized too late how creepy he looked and quickly squatted down away from her vision.

What a stupid idea.

He laughed to himself. Oh, he had to still be drunk.

Stupid idea indeed.
