January 1 - Wuhan

"Hey.... turn on the TV"

said Wang Wei to his brother Lie Jie, scrolling through his phone.

"Right now!... Why? also why can't you get your lazy ass up the couch, and turn it on?"

Replying to Wei, Lie switched on the television with a sigh, and came back to the couch without even facing the TV. Wang put his phone face down on the couch and changed the channel to a local Chinese news channel.

"The Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan, China, has been sealed off after being identified as the possible epicenter of a new virus"

The voice over in the news channel kept on repeating the same lines over and over, along with the visuals of the closed market.

"It's all over the social media now..."

said Wei lifting his phone from the couch and started scrolling through them. Wei continued,

"We should better start quarantine ourselves, i believe it is getting very bad out there."

"Well, I don't think so Wei, we have seen far worse epidemics than this one."

Replied Lei, comforting his sitting position on the couch, extending his legs and placed it over the small table in front of him, still haven't taken his eyes from the TV.

"Do you know the rate of people getting infected everyday? It's hundreds... It is doubling every day... Every single day... It is clearly in front of our eyes..."

Wei put downs his phone after telling this and walked out to the balcony. He was inspecting the streets, the people, the crowds...
He saw a lot of people, literally hundreds who were in a rush to gather things for the quarantine. Because they knew it was going to get bad that fast. He could also see the fights taking place in the distance for the supplies, he knew things were getting out of control.

"We should move right now... Either let's get out of here or let's get some supplies stock up, cos we don't even know how long it will take for it all to settle down."

Said Wei, returning back to the room, standing in front of Lei expecting an answer. Understanding the seriousness of the situation Lee got up from his comfort of the couch and started to think deeply, walking around in circles inside the room biting his fist harder.

"We should wait for our sister, she'll get back within 4 days right, Then we'll leave... But first, we should get the supplies immediately... Especially fuel for our rides, because it is going to get real bad real quick... Take the masks we're going out now..."

Upon hearing it Wei rushed to his room to grab the masks, he took them and passed one to Lei. They were both ready to hit the streets, where there are hundreds fighting for getting a hold on supplies. Locked the room, they climbed down the stairs of their 4 storied apartment to the street full of people looking for supplies to survive on the coming days.
