"I came to see you, P." Ming smiled and Kit scowled even harder. His heart was slamming into his chest and he could feel a heated blush working its way up his neck from the embarrassment of being so startled. Kit looked around the canteen to see if Phana and Beam were around, but they weren't. His eyes drifted back to Ming who was still smiling in his face.

Charming jerk! Kit said angrily in his head. Why does he have to smile like that?

"Well, I'm busy so just...go away."

"Awe, P. Is that any way to speak to your junior? I haven't seen you in such a long time. We should get reacquainted. Right, P'Kit Kat?"

Kit's eyes grew wide at the nickname. Who did this guy think he was? Sure, they had gone to high school together, but that didn't mean they knew each other.

"What did you call me?" Kit asked.

"P'Kit Kat!" Ming grinned, leaned in closer and said in a low voice. "Didn't know I knew about that nickname, did you? Don't worry. If you don't like it, I'll call you P'Kitty instead."

He winked, and Kit felt a fresh wave of annoyance wash over him.

"Oi!" Kit exclaimed. He grabbed his bag that was next to him, hurriedly snatched up his papers, and moved to the other side of the table.

"Aow..." Ming watched him in surprise as he quickly moved away from him. "Why did you just move seats?"

"To get away from you. I told you I was busy." Kit buried his face in his papers, hoping that Ming would get the hint and go away. But he continued to sit there.

Ming didn't know why Kit had never liked him, but he would be lying if he didn't admit that he felt drawn to Kit. Teasing him was so much fun, and a major part of him just wanted to be able to make Kit smile at least once. Even in high school, Kit was always frowning and scowling. Ming could make everyone smile. So why couldn't he get Kit to smile too? Before he had even realized it, he had made it a secret mission of his to get Kit to smile. Even if that meant getting cursed at every now and then.

"There you go scowling again. Didn't I say that you were too cute to scowl?" Ming leaned forward over the table and studied Kit. Kit didn't respond. Instead, he slowly raised his head, eventually meeting Ming's eyes. Ming had shiny, black eyes. They were so bright and welcoming that it was easy to get lost in them. He was tall, tan skinned, and had a good physique.

Maybe he still plays basketball or something. He is quite tall after all...

Kit didn't realize that he was staring at Ming until Ming began to smile again. He suddenly snapped out of it and jerked his head back down.

"I'm busy, Ming."

"So, you do remember my name!" Ming exclaimed, sitting up straight.

"I'm glad that makes you happy. Now, would you get out of here?"

"Not until you smile." Ming said bluntly.

Kit looked up again and could tell by the expression on his face that Ming wasn't going anywhere, anytime soon. He scanned the canteen again. Where the heck was Phana and Beam? They always helped him out of situations like these...as long as they weren't too busy laughing their heads off. Kit opened his mouth to scold him, but Ming cut him off.

"You know...I don't think I've ever seen you smile. So how about right now?" Ming asked.

"Gooo awaaayy." Kit sighed.

A moment passed between them as Ming just stared at him. Kit sat uncomfortably and began playing with the pen in his hands.

"Fine. I'll go. But you'll see me again. And I'm going to make you smile before this school year is over."

"You sure have a lot of confidence." Kit sat up straight and looked him up and down.

"I always have a lot of confidence." Ming smirked. "And I'm confident that I can make you smile."

Kit didn't know why, but hearing how sure he sounded in his voice and seeing his confident smirk, sent a surge of butterflies to his stomach, completely surprising him. When he realized his heart was beating fast, he broke eye contact with Ming and began to snatch up all his papers. Ming's smile didn't leave his face as he watched him.

"Leaving, P'Kitty?"

"Don't call me P'Kitty!" He shouted as he threw his bag over his shoulder and half sprinted away from the table.

"I'll see you around, P! We're going to get reacquainted!" Ming called after him. He watched as Kit's small frame darted in and out of other students. Ming shook his head and chuckled under his breath. Teasing him was fun indeed.
