Prompt: Sick! Alice Angel (Christmas)

•  •  •

Oh, god. Not now. Not today... Alice groaned and ran her hands down her face, her head spinning as she propped herself up against the headboard. I can't be sick...not on Christmas... She sniffled loudly, trying to calm her runny nose. Currently, she was sitting in bed, too nauseated by her throbbing headache to stand properly. It was Christmas morning, but that's not why she was so upset about discovering she was sick. She was upset because now she couldn't carry out her plans for the day—her plans with [Y/N] that is. She wanted to take her somewhere nice to eat, then go shopping for something simple—like a bracelet or something. Luckily, she had already wrapped her main gift to her girlfriend, but she was still upset with not being able to spend time with the [h/c] girl.

As if on cue, [Y/N] came waltzing through the door with her hands behind her back. "Hey, Angel," [Y/N] cooed. The [h/c] closed the door softly and sat at the end of the mattress. Alice smiled weakly. "Hey, [Y/N]..." she replied softly. "I got you a little something." Alice raised an eyebrow. "Oh?" "Yes. Hold out your arm." "Uh...alright." Alice did so and watched with curiosity as [Y/N] pulled the object from behind her back. A charm bracelet?? [Y/N] smiled proudly as she placed the bracelet around Alice's wrist. "There! Now we match!" The [h/c] girl revealed her wrist and held it up so Alice could easily view the charms. The angel smiled warmly and examined her own. "Oh, wow...thank you, [Y/N]...what do the charms represent?" [Y/N]'s eyes lit up at the question. "Oh! Well, the wings, halo, and horns represent you, and the (items of your choice) represent me. The heart—well, that one is kinda obvious. And the microphone represents how we met. Y'know. Back at the studio when you were first introduced to Alice."

Alice smiled and chuckled lightly. "Of course I remember. How could I forget? I met the love of my life..." Alice gently held [Y/N]'s hands in her own, caressing the back of them with her thumbs. "That was really cliché," the [h/c] retorted playfully. Alice smirked and looked up at her girlfriend. "Yeah, I know. But you know how much I love clichés." [Y/N] giggled, earning a loving gaze from Alice. "Anyway, Merry Christmas, my angel." She placed a soft kiss to Alice's forehead. "Merry Christmas..." That's when the angel looked down in shame. [Y/N] quickly picked up on this and gave her a concerned glare.

"What's wrong?" Alice sighed and brought [Y/N]'s hand up to her forehead to feel her temperature. "I'm sick. I'm sick on Christmas and can't take you where I wanted to...I can't even leave this god-forsaken bed..." [Y/N] sighed and gave a sympathetic grin. "Don't worry about it, Alice. I'd rather you be sick on Christmas when I can stay home to take care of you than when I have to be at work nine hours a day. This just means I have an excuse to not go visit Joey today." Alice scowled at the mention of him. [Y/N] noticed this and laughed softly. "Sorry. I won't say his name again."

Alice sighed and looked down at the charm bracelet. "So...you're not upset?" "Why would I be upset? You can't control when you get sick." "I know, but...all I have for my gift to you is this." She pulled a small box out from under her pillow before handing it to her girlfriend, who took it curiously. She studied it for a moment, trying to think of what it could be, before gently opening it. She let out a small gasp as she pulled the object out of the box. "I know, I know. It's not much, but I--" "It's perfect, Alice! I love it so much!" She studied the necklace that she received.

A small pendant with her birthstone in the center. The outlining of the stone had tiny, intricate designs that would be easy to mistake for a random pattern, though [Y/N] realized the design was based on something she and Alice had shared when they first met. There were small dots that outlined a music note at the bottom, signifying when she first fell for the woman. She had been singing a song for a Christmas special when they made eye contact. Alice, though she was known as Susie at the time, blushed when they did, but she gave a small wink and smirked with a wave. [Y/N] froze and stared back before snapping out of it when Joey called her to his office.

"You...you do?" Alice suddenly asked, snapping [Y/N] out of her blissful trance. "Yes. I do. It's incredible." She quickly clipped it on around her neck and studied it once again. "Thank you..." Alice smiled warmly and nodded. "You're welcome." The two sat in comfortable silence, simply staring at each other and enjoying each other's company. Soon enough, [Y/N] had curled into Alice side, much to the angel's hesitation. "You realize I could be contagious, right?" [Y/N] simply shrugged and nuzzled further into her girlfriend's side. "That's fine. Then we can spend more time together."
